I also think it is absolutely paramount that players also understand that at the moment, we have 2 core choices to make:

1. Be efficient... trading is the most efficient way to play this game.

2. Be satisfied... play using the gear you find and craft.

1.) Trading -> be well geared for cheap, have no problems clearing content of your current level, not being shafted by crafting rng

2.) Not trading -> being almost always undergeared, have difficulties clearing content of your current level or not be able to access it at all, being constantly shafted by "crafting" attempts

I don't see how the first option does not bring satisfaction to almost every player. Therefore trading is always the better option, be it for efficiency or satisfaction. Trading is OP and BiS. But I dont think it needs to be nerfed, other gameplay options need to be buffed.

I accepted it, that's why I uninstalled the game.

Still rooting for a change, though.

Question whether PoE has to change, that's done, that's over man. Now the only question is how many more players are GGG willing to lose before that happens.

Lol, leaving a game because you want to trade.

I play for fun and i have fared well. Who cares if i die a million times to dominus or whatever, its a game not real life. Death means nothing and fun means everything. You guys worry too much about an ingame economy thats meaningless. Put your money in stock and see what happens and stop caring so much about this "economy".

Agreed.

Well in hardcore where dieing is not an option its pretty common to pay for the service of getting bosses killed. And for me at least i didnt enjoy any game at the point i come to a gear wall which cant be get passed unless you A cheat/RMT B trade C get extremly lucky.

Thats btw. the problem people had with the old inferno mode in Diablo 3. Its not that it as a challenge. The problem was, that it was simply a gearcheck which cant be passed unless you farm 24/7 a day. So no matter what, people get locked from content which is a no-go for me.
There are so many false presumptions in the OP, it blows my mind. I'm certainly too lazy to write them all down, mostly because it won't lead anywhere, you know, "arguing on the internet ..." and stuff, but let me tell you one thing: You're wrong.

You're not completely wrong, you have some fair points, but the crucial parts are just not true/right. If you don't like it, don't play it, easy as that. I'm not too sure why people are trying to make a game into something it's not, when they could just carry on with their lifes and do something with their time they actually enjoy.

Can you elaborate a bit on how to buff those other options? I am intrigued.

Well shure, the post is only my point of view. But its kind of weird to say: my post is wrong and not give a single detail about whats wrong with it. And yes instead of writing these lines you could have at least tell me why (and where?) these crucial parts are wrong.

Thats no offense. I rly want to know!

* By making crafting proper crafting, not just gambling.

* By introducing the ability to do "targeted looting", ie. the chance to get items that are usable by your build and not just to trade away for $$$ exalts. Loot tables, basically, but there could be other more innovative options... ("Altar of sacrifice" -> sacrifice a rare twohander mace and a few chaos orbs, to get more chance that the game will drop you rare twohander maces)

That would require some revision of GGG's affection for total RNG

But after listening to a few of Chris interviews, where its obvious that for him the economy is god and everything must serve it, I'm not sure its worth to brainstorm solutions that GGG is not interested in hearing. Because there is no problem. Economy is supposed to be the BiS solution for everything.

Can a player beat the regular content self-found? In Domination, I know that's doable. I got enough upgrades self-found/crafted to solo the regular content.

Does it matter if there are players who keep score with stash tabs of exalts, as long as regular players can find enough upgrades to beat Act 3?
And may the mods be ever in your favor.

Yes. But regular content is just a fraction of the real fun PoE has to offer.

Exactly, also Morbo, great ideas but sadly, no GGG doesnt seem at all interested in anything else besides the economy.
