PoE 2 servers are restarting in: .
They should be back up in approximately .You are not rembering diablo 2 correctly
" no you don't. You need CoC, one attack and then whatever spells. You don't need 6 links for this to work. Hell, you don't even need a 4L... Build of the week #9 - Breaking your face with style http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_EcQDOUN9Y

" 3 spells is a 5L without any other supports, life leech for example is pretty fundamental, and I could go 2 spells and GMP instead, or get another fun support. There are quite a few builds that get great use out of a 6-link. I'm not saying 6-links should drop like scraps, but that they shouldn't be so random to get. People spending 2k+ fusings and not getting a 6-link is just silly. Last edited by Novalisk#3583 on Jan 25, 2014, 10:41:14 AM

" There are so many things silly about their loot drop and crafting system. Dibs out until it makes a little more sense time vs rewards. Last edited by Isbox1#3280 on Jan 25, 2014, 10:49:36 AM

To OP: No, bad dog. No biscuit for you.
Vote +1 to change Path of Exile to Path of Nerfs.
We hate to say, but ProjectPT was right. |

I remember d2 correctly.
Vanilla d2 had crap uniques for the most part. The only uniques that were in the game were from the first tier of armours (items that dropped in normal). Same for sets. There wasn't even an item tier for hell, it ended in nightmare. Doing xp runs consisted of doing act 4 endlessly and it was hard to get past level 65 (and mostly pointless). The game was centered around rares, which had a HUGE pool of awful mods. There was little to no crafting. Build diversity didn't exist. In LoD, finding a top tier rune legit was extremely rare. Making a top runeword (before 1.10) pretty much required to trade. Doing hell meph gave you ton of useless set items (tancred anyone?) and useless uniques. The same was true of every single boss. You could go on for days without finding a single good unique. There was only one true mf character and it was the sorceress. If you didn't have one, good luck ever getting a good drop. Crafting system was very similar to how it works in PoE with the exception of having 1 certain mod. Leveling to 99 was relatively easy. Then 1.10 and the rest came along, made runewords literally requires someone to trade for duped runes/botting to even have a glimmer of hope to achieve the runewords. They also introduced a high amount of near impossible to find uniques without the use of bots. Leveling to 99 was made pain fully boring (if done legit). Build diversity was killed (everyone had to have enigma and use a specific skill set). D2 was fun, but it was extremely easy and the only reason anyone got the items they had was through duping or botting. Some items like windforce makes Kaom look like a common drop. Complaints like this seem to come most from players who spend 1% of their time rushing through 99% of the game, and the other 99% of their time trying to get that last 1%.

You guys can talk all day long about bots and RMT but the fact is that I have a completely different memory about it. I didn't trade. I didn't RMT. I didn't bot. And I played the shit out of that game for 10 years re-making whole accounts to end game - even some BIS end game - in under 4-6 months each time I remade. 4-6 characters. MF with like 500+. Why? Because shit actually dropped in the game. Set items. Runes. Awesome uniques. Loot dropped like crazy.
Too bad you guys didn't actually play D2. I remember IP farming in groups to get annis all day long... crushing ubers... d-bags who claim they played D2 probably are madly looking up some D2 sites to even see what I'm talking about. <rolleyes> Yeah guys. You sure as shit played D2. <rolleyes> |

" Most of my time played was in .08 and .09, though I was around for a while in .10 and did venture back for a short while in .13. What I most remember is the following: -Buriza selling for almost $1500 on Ebay when it was first found in LoD. -PvP games being utterly dominated by the 'ith' era. -Players exploiting the well known Eth rune bug that made it literally impossible for attacks to miss, so long as you were in range. -Nova sorcs being all but unplayable unless you were running with dual Occy rings (at which point they just became godlike). -390%+ EBoTD Zerks flying around like they were made of Tir runes. -The SoJ racket being brought down by Rust Storm and the uber-spawn consumption recipe, only to be replaced by the duped HR racket shortly thereafter. -Pindlebot being all but required if you ever hoped to see a Windforce in your lifetime. You can't tell me, with an even halfway straight face, that any of this was intended by the game developers. They were also the heart and soul of the D2 economy for a very long time. To believe otherwise is extremely naive. Last edited by Gallowmere1984#3534 on Jan 25, 2014, 12:32:56 PM
