You are not rembering diablo 2 correctly

I am 26 years old and I like some of you started my PC gaming on Diablo 1 when I was about 11 years old. I started Diablo 2 when I was 13 or 14. By 2004 Diablo was so full of dupes and bots and rmt it was extremely easy to get good gear. I see alot of people Qqing about not fusing their 6L or being able to be self found. 6L are meant to be the most end game of end game. I have been playing Poe since August of 2011 and I got my first 6L in June of 2013.
I also see many posts from cry babies who can't maintain a map pool. I have never had a problem with this. Yesterday I hosted 74/75 maps for 8 hours. About 4 hours in I exhausted all my 74/75 so I started running 73s for free and eventually built my pool back up. You have to spend currency on maps to map. End of story. Chisel 74 or better, run in a party of 6 and play hard mods. also alot of you who are in your 80's dont run your lower maps because they provide only 1% exp or less. You are dumb for that as you can solo those maps in less than 10 minutes with an item quantity in your 5L and make at least a regret worth of currency doing so. tldr quit bitching. Agreed, mate.
I think that it's okay that getting a 6L is pretty hard and it's not that easy to get to 90's. There are some issues with loot and I hate that I am really unlucky with that and I have played for around 3 years now and I have NEVER got one of the really good endgame uniques etc. BUT the game is fun even without that, if you can get a good 5L and some okay gear, and you have a good build, you still can get to 85 pretty easily, if you don't get lucky with uber good gear - make a new char, as there are tons of builds available. Sure, an average player sometimes gets more maps than he invested, but most of the times he won't, and the impact is catastrophic in 77/78 lvl maps, where one has to spend on 1 level more than his complete gear costs. Bolded part is the cancer of the end game, you have to spend currency to gain experience efficiently, and this exists only in this game. So all the "hardcore" stuff falls apart, because even if you can handle hard content, you can't play it. That's the biggest problem of this game, desync is a little baby in comparison to this. Run in a party of 6? Are you referring to rotate groups or just public groups? If you're referring to rotate groups that is just supporting what I've said here. If you're referring to public groups, are we talking about hosting public groups or joining them? If you're talking about hosting, it's the same as solo play, but you tend to get invested currency into rolling maps. If you're talking about joining public parties, that limits the freedom in playing, you can't play when you want and most of the times you have to deal with idiots. |

You could farm NM Meph until you had what you needed for Hell Meph, and then you could do Hell Baal for whatever Meph couldn't drop. You didn't get level 10 uniques from Hell Meph. Loot tables in PoE are too large. There's the problem with low level uniques and item level (for socketing), but that could be addressed with a "raise item level to x" recipes. (But I think drops are mostly fine. It's crafting that isn't. D2 was centered on uniques, PoE is more about rares, which is the actual cause of the complaints.) | |

You have been playing even longer than I have, unfortunately for me, the two 6 Links I found (drops not crafted) were in closed Beta so they were wiped. D2 was fun for me, but I only ever played single player...

If they were easy to maintain a pool of getting to 100 wouldn't be the nearly impossible feat the devs designed it to be I understand its frustrating not having the endest of end game handed to you on a silver platter with eternal orbs decorating it but that is the game.poe was made by Grinding gear games. You're suppose to grind bro. Get on DAT grind ign sweetumss

Considering a lot of the people who 'don't remember Diablo 2 correctly' are calling for self found league in PoE, it's hard to believe they were RMT-ing and duping in Diablo 2.

I was teaching college when D1 came out. I camped out with the people on the design team for D2 regularly. My wife is even mentioned in the credits (singing group).
I remember it well. You're basing your assessment of what D2 was based on your play. To many, D2 wan't a dupe fest. We played it legit. We didn't group or trade with people that we didn't trust. Some didn't group or trade at all. That's the environment that PoE brings back for me, and the environment that GGG is hoping to maintain. |

i am remembering PoE correctly , worse then d2 in everything even skills every character runs on one dmgdealing some auras and one or two curses with moltenshell cast when dmg taken. now say it with me - we´re all different and the game is challenging! i find it funny how the site i put in quote claims to get 100s of orders on a daily basis in PoE and then i see someone in chat claiming tove made 1500exalts and other shenanigans. D2 it took at least years to die because of duping botting RMT PoE is in its babyshoes and people are already disgusted about the current state of the game. Even if you bot in this game 24/7 your account gets flagged for not looting currency o no! but they dont ban you its hilarious. |
