Dude, you used the word 'reward'.

This is a shopping game.
If you go to the shop and buy a bag of potatoes, they are not a reward, they are a transaction, a purchase. The money given to the shop keeper is a fee, a price, a cost.

Reward, lol.

Furthermore, you play the time card.
Counter to belief, time is the least factor involved in progression in PoE. It's who you know, how low morals you have and what you do with that time that matter.
Playing an aRPG as an aRPG for 10,0000 hours won't get you as far as playing a shopping sim with contacts and being a douche.
