D3 vs Poe: Which has worse itemization?

The problem with d3's itemization was never how hard it is to find upgrades or anything. It's just so painfully dull compared to poe,d2, and hell even d1. Every class stacks the same stats, your weapon type is meaningless and is just a picture to slap a big number on, and there just is no form of "meta" involved in picking gear. It's just stacking the biggest number possible.

Dynasty warriors has more engaging itemization than d3 for christs sake.

"Gearing Up" is the only thing there is to do in D3 since every character is a carbon copy of every other character of that class except for gear...

There is really no comparison since in D3 there are maybe 2 good pieces of gear for any slot depending on the class, where as in PoE I could have 50 different marauders all with different optimized gear b/c I can actually build them differently.

Why don't we just give everyone all the items in the game, and be done with it.

Seriously. It's like gamers of today cannot handle a random roll Diablo clone anymore.
No one has the patience in this 'me me me me' gamer generation. If you're not winning in less than half an hour, something is fucking broken, and the shit-winds start blowing Randy.

The threads are endless.

PoE = D3 in terms of drops and itemization. Same crap, similar flaws here and there. To be honest, PoE is a bit better, but it's not that hard, having in mind what kind of rare shit is D3.

And please don't compare D2 to above mentioned, because it's a shame. In D2 you could build a mighty +90 HC char for 2-3 weeks, from scratch, having almost every unique in game and some HL runes, self found, having fun during process. All you needed was time and passion and you'd be rewarded. No artificial difficulty scaling and walls, no severe nerfs, no sinks. We had freedom there, the freedom to do whatever we want to have fun. D2 never treated you like a naughty child, crying to be punished, nor took the lollipop off your hands.

Have in mind all these problems we discuss on forum are a function of developer's politics and visions about the game, not lack of knowledge or skills. So probably nothing will change in near future.

I'm currently replaying TL2 and I'm happy as an elephant. I'd forgotten what was to have fun but not frustration, how smooth progression could be, how just playing the game, without zombie grinding the content, meant you'll get constant upgrades equal to your level.
Ask me if I'm coming back to PoE.

In D2 you could possibly level up char pretty fast, but saying that you could get proper gear for him.... LOL, are we talking about same D2? Maybe, in some mod, where drop rates are 10000% higher and Mephisto in Hell drops high-level runes, uniques and sets left&right.... But not in original version. Getting proper high-level rune or high-level unique could take weeks of boring farm, sometimes - months or even more. You know, i played D2 selffound with MF char for few month, and the best runeword i could made was Famine. Enigma and others like it were only a dream for me.
Sure, you still could beat a whole game with certain builds, that were viable even in crap gear.

As for TL2, another LOL. You know, i leveled up my dual-wield melee Berserker there, to 92 level, on Elite difficulty.... Guess, what itemization i used? Magic sets with life/mana leech bonuses, all with LIFE. Most gems are "eye of General Grell" to stack up +75% damage resistance. Oh, so much diversity! Life, life, MOARRRR life (actually, BiS item = pure life roll), then make sockets and enchant it for +stats. That's all! Armour and most other bonuses are USELESS!
And you call this shit a proper itemization? Lol, it's even worse than PAth of Life nodes.

There're lollipop's here!?
D3 has much worse itemization than PoE, but both games ultimately rely on trading in the endgame.

I don't know what you are talking about either.
The last time I was on D2 I built a 94 HC zealot with Famine and Fortitude in less than a month. Had every unique in game, except SOJ, Tyrael's and Grandfather. I've found 2 x Ber, excluding the Jah, Ohm and Sol I used for crafting. Not to mention the lower ones. All self found. Never gathered sets, sets are for noobs. It was on 1.13. Yes, as I remeber, rune drops were harsh before 1.11, so what. Uniques still constantly dropped.

But it's not the point. What's more important, I had fun during process of grinding and leveling. And you always were rewarded there, in terms of items, if you spent time. Constant progression and items upgrades. Play time was not wasted, like in PoE. Good enough rare/unique items, useful even in mid/lategame, were quite common. Not 99% vendor trash like in PoE. Never tried to sell items with a filthy rich expression on my face, as there was no reason to do it. I had what I needed. Self found. But I played a H&S ARPG, not a damn trading simulator. In a difference of PoE.

Same for TL.

And at least both D2 and TL didn't have the pretensions in itemization PoE has, though they did it better with quite simplified systems.

BTW better change the approach, I've played the shit out of both D2 and TL, I know their pros and cons quite well, there's no need of "LOLz", "do you even lift", question and exclamation marks, etc. childish bullshit.

D3 had the worse itemization ive seen in years, every single class benefits from the same stats and apparently they did nothing to fix that in RoS,they did make sure to dumb down the game to its limits so any 12 y/o child can faceroll it. PoE crafting has room for improvements, but the gearing up options are far more varied and many uniques feel powerful.

I have to disagree with your assessment of D2... Stuff never dropped there. Junk uniques were a dime a dozen, but the top end items and runes never dropped. Played the heck out out of it as well... :-/
