I don't find gambling fun. Therefore I don't find the "crafting" system fun. Attempting to slog through the "crafting" system killed my enjoyment of the game so I no longer play. "Hard" or "easy" has nothing to do with it, save for the fact that if it was "easy" it would have been a minor nuisance instead of an insurmountable source of frustration.

If I return in a future league, any currency I acquire will be traded away for items of actual value to me instead of thrown down GGG's slot machine.

Yep. Luckily (?) for you, the player base is full of gambling addicts that you can take advantage of.

RNG is fair. (Though, not in the "everything has equal chance" definition of fair.)

RNG is mathematically fair, and thats about it. Psychologically (regarding player experience), its completely different

We need to remember that humans play PoE, not robots ;)

Indeed! I would encourage the choice of a better word, then -- one that doesn't bait trolls to respond with "QQ more."

There's a point to be made, but one has to be careful to avoid looking like "WAAAAH this is not fair!" (also the whole "entitlement" response.)

This is somewhat hardcore : the more understanding you have - the less you get crushed by the game.
RNG perfectly fits this purpose : if you expect too much from gambling <=> you lack some understanding = you can easily get punished by the RNG and that makes people QQ/rage.
SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

Not really, because when you get an understanding of the mechanics, the gameplay dumbs down to the point where a brainless monkey can emulate the same type of gameplay

You, for example realise that using fusings to 6L is generally a shit idea, so what do you do instead?

Farm easy to farm areas to gain currency to buy that 6L, or go around flipping items. Neither of these activities are really hardcore.

Actual hardcore games don't give you choice, you either take the highway or lose it. PoE gives you plenty of ways to completely bypass any typeof difficulty it can claim to advertize

Why is this a debate whenever or not getting a 6 link is hardcore?

Hardcore means your extremely into something or a type of difficulty the norm is not accustomed too.

The RNG for a 6 link is in the sense extremely hardcore RNG, but is not "hardcore" for difficulty (since you don't need a 6 link to beat the game) or skill (there is no skill involved making a 6 link other then gathering resources to do so)

Debating whenever or not it's "hardcore" its a bad platform to justify anything, and it should be more or not 6 link should be RNG at all.

Everything is based on choices, especially in hardcore games ...
If you don't make the right choices, you get crushed when something is hardcore, that's the whole point, it's unforgiving <=> wrong choices get punished.

You could replace 6L with many other features in the game and the point would still be the same

And RNG is not hardcore, its luck, there is a difference.
Who said that getting a 6L was hardcore ? noone actually
