My Thoughts about RNG Manipulation.
" Well it wasn't 100 and it wasn't a theory, considering fact debunks any opinions. You can actually use xyz to see it happening. Being a professional programmer has nothing to do with seeing constant and predictable patterns, and being a professional programmer doesn't mean that you would know how every company specifically programs their game anyway. Anything that anyone says to you will fall on deaf ears, because much like a Terminator you can't be reasoned with, you can't be bargained with, and you absolutely will not stop until all of us are dead. " It's the most plausible thing I could come up with that would explain waves of people getting certain uniques (if, indeed, that happens -- and there's no reason not to suppose so for now and discuss possible reasons why). " This implies certain things about RNG seeding, sharing and what not which would buy you more complex, more buggy and less perfomant RNGenerator.
" Yeah, it would. (Didn't I say this in my post earlier?) IGN: SplitEpimorphism Last edited by syrioforel#7028 on Jan 13, 2014, 6:00:45 AM

The drop rates in real life are rigged too.
Te other day my girlfriend went all gooey eyed and told me of her love of the panda! She showed me some vids on Youtube of baby panda, about 7 of them in a big pen, she looked so happy and was rolling about giggling with panda love in her eyes! She is pretty and awesome! Anyway, I made her some dinner, Chorizo Cod with little cubed potatoes, served with a Rhone white wine. The next day I went out to buy some shit for breakfast, as I was walking back from the shop I started thinking about her, she speaks a lot of languages and is very particular about grammar. You may have noticed that I know little about grammar when writing, but when I speak everything is present and correct. She often tells me about adverbs? past/present? plural substantives????? I don't know what any of this is. Anyway, it came to mind a time about 8 years ago when I was observing a friend interacting with a woman he had just met. The woman told him she was an English teacher to which he said, 'oh! I just read a book called; 'Eats shoots and leaves.'' This struck me as a strange name for a book but for some reason I assumed it was about a panda that eats bamboo shoots and leaves, with some particular written English angle, probably punctuation, demonstrating how the meaning of a sentence can change depending on its use. On the way back home I popped into my mothers house, she wasn't home. I went into her room for no particular reason, just looking about as she is selling the house and I wanted to look around one last time. There on her night-stand is sitting a book with a panda on the cover climbing a bamboo ladder and painting on the outside of a restaurant 'Eats Shoots and Leaves' I pulled my mothers bookmark out, stuffed the book in my shopping bag and got the fuck out of there! I guess it was akin to finding an exalted orb and leaving the instance asap to get it safe and in my stash! What are the fucking odds of a book I thought about twice in my life, once 8 years ago and once just before it dropped, suddenly appearing right in front of me? Life is full of statistical improbabilities! Last edited by Mammatus#4838 on Jan 13, 2014, 6:15:27 AM

" You assume numbers on poe.xyz adequately reflects soul takers stock in stashes.
" It's a decent attempt at a plausible explanation given the amount of data you have access to, but as noted elsewhere it's really unlikely that GGG would have the experience necessary to create and successfully run PoE from scratch and make that sort of ... choice. Background: I don't have a CS degree, but I once had to explain to someone with one what a state machine was. I've written, deployed, and managed professional (in syrioforel's parlance) software. http://www.twitch.tv/exhortatory Last edited by exhortatory#6217 on Jan 13, 2014, 7:06:57 AM

Common guys the most popular streamers nowadays get 500 viewers at the best of times. The money the earn with this is not worth mentioning and even the promotional value for poe is limited.
Do you think that GGG manipulates their RNG so that people thing that the game is more awesome? Or do you think that streamers bribe GGG for improving their odds? |

" Also something else to add to that - perhaps there were multiple soul takers for sale days before, some people wanted to sell but the price was too low so they decided to keep for the time sake. Now some rich, merchanting guy bought out all soul takers planning to sell for mad profits. Now you looked at poe.xyz and found out that there are no soul takers for sale. Other people noticed same and decided that now is a good time to make a sale. You got a soul taker as a drop and listed it available for sale, so did those other players. In my opinion just as likely as your theory |
