So all the 'whiners' on the forums are...

Think what you want. Most people leave because they get bored with the game after a few months, just like any other game. Later on they come back for new content, new ladders or whatever.

Saying they need to increase the droprate to get more players to come is a flat out joke.

Just wanted to comment on the point the op made. I was thinking about why that might be and I feel like its probably due to the nature of the die hard PoE fans and what kind of fan the game demands. The really die hard fans are going to be really hardcore gamers. PoE asks the die hard day in day out players to be a hardcore, smart and resilient bunch and those people in turn ask at least that much of the developers and the decisions they make. They challenge us and we in turn challenge them. As long as respect is understood and the conversations stays positive I think the criticism will always do more good than harm.

One can only hope they wake up from their reddit-coma - anything that site touches turns to shit.

GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

Huh? Anyone would rather stay in an environment where they are constantly praised rather than an environment where they are scrutinized and criticized all the time.

That doesn't mean that that's the best choice though.

There's criticism on both sites, the difference is on Reddit it's pretty much always constructive (the voting system helps alot), while here you have to wade through dozens of shitty posts until you find something worth reading.

You must be using a different Reddit to me

All i see on Reddit are unimportant QoL/content suggestions, and no criticism aimed towards the core issues of the game; grind, bad crafting and desync

Thats not even mentioning the idiotic posts like "POE CHANGED MY LIFE", "LOOK RNG GAVE ME SHINY LOOT" and "MY AUTISTIC BROTHER DREW A KIWI FRUIT" threads that infest the subreddit

I know this makes me sound bad, but those posts are barely related to PoE. Most of them look suspiciously like pointless karma-whoring, and without a verification system like the ama subreddit theres no way to know if they are legit or dumb attention seeking

Example 3 :

Name of character in overlay mini-map, a huge QoL improvement for PoE and basically in any other rpg i know of. No clue why this has not been implemented.

Posted that suggestion enough times.

The QoL thread is better than 99% of threads posted around here... the other topics were mentioned on Reddit, or are you just talking about the current frontpage? Also a hater will see karma-whoring in everything lol. Well back to whining about desync or RNG for a millionth time, these forums are awesome for that :)

Yes, a lot of "whiners" and "trolls" are experienced long-time players, that know the game in & out and have invested a lot of time and (possibly) money into it.

Can you do 1 + 1, OP?
