You must be using a different Reddit to me

All i see on Reddit are unimportant QoL/content suggestions, and no criticism aimed towards the core issues of the game; grind, bad crafting and desync

Thats not even mentioning the idiotic posts like "POE CHANGED MY LIFE", "LOOK RNG GAVE ME SHINY LOOT" and "MY AUTISTIC BROTHER DREW A KIWI FRUIT" threads that infest the subreddit

I know this makes me sound bad, but those posts are barely related to PoE. Most of them look suspiciously like pointless karma-whoring, and without a verification system like the ama subreddit theres no way to know if they are legit or dumb attention seeking

The QoL thread is better than 99% of threads posted around here... the other topics were mentioned on Reddit, or are you just talking about the current frontpage? Also a hater will see karma-whoring in everything lol. Well back to whining about desync or RNG for a millionth time, these forums are awesome for that :)

Is it still considered "whining" when half of last month's player base left, and the majority who stayed are still upset? I mean, I like to be right too, but at this point you're just playing devil's advocate.

It's a testament to how bad the drop rates/crafting are if the majority of any online community can commonly and overwhelmingly agree on something. Been on the internet a long time, and I can count the times this has happened on 1 hand. Shit's bad homie.
Is it whining when i feel mad about people exploiting their way to Level 100 , while honest player never will grind past level 90 ?

Or should i just buy a cast on death gem right now ?

Uhm, what? December 14th peak concurrency: 15751 ; January 11th peak concurrency: 14005

(I picked two Saturdays. And this is only on Steam.)

Also, your majority is the same dozen or so people who QQ about the same things all day every day.

Nice exaggeration 'homie', but I'm already used to that on these forums :)

GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
Which is always baffling to me. There is a feedback forum, thousands of threads, multitude of valid points and non-trolltastic criticisms and yet, we keep seeing really out of touch updates from the dev's.

The problems of PoE and most online games in general these days all stem from dev's being out of touch with players. Dev's want to tell you as the player what they think is fun instead of those who've played the game.

Balance musical chairs pretty much ruins online gaming. This overzealous approach to build diversity ends up hurting build diversity due to overnerfing of stuff.
This might sound crazy but.... "fun" is a subjective word.

Imagine that.

I have posted this in another thread also, this is directed to Xavderion,

Dear sir, might explaining to me who is in charge of these forums?

Who is responsible for cleaning up this mess ( as opposed to using redit and letting this forum rot?)

And do they really have an excuse to neglect there own forums when they are responsible for the quality of it?

And this is an honest observation/question, no pun intended or anything. It just baffles me from time to time to read some responses like "these forums are toxic compared to redit" like this justify's anything related to the core issue. Like it justify's the dev's not using there own site to discuss game-related maters.

Also redit is a highly skewed site, the up-voting and down-voting ensure a group mentality singling out the individual opinion/critique. I would rather know the opinion of both heads and tails when i am designing a game for both, instead of a singular skewed opinion of only heads, neglecting tails.

That is just my own opinion, so i might be missing some issue's.

Peace

Also this is not a personal attack on you Xav, but you seem to defend the dev's going to redit in this thread, while they are in charge(partially) for the quality of there own forums. And this in itself baffles me.

You are very correct jahithber , however, it is in the dev's best interest to understand where the middle-ground of this subjective "fun" is located in order to optimize player retention. When 95% of the players burn-out before this "fun" is attained, it would have a very negative impact on the future of the game, if 50% burn-out before this happens it can most likely be mitigated by new players flowing in. (pulling numbers out of my *ss here)

No no, I didn't mean to defend them, I just tried to explain why Chris is on Reddit and not here. The forum moderation sucks most times (sorry mods) and we can't expect Chris to read everything. Should he hire more mods? I think there are better ways to spend money. The forums are doomed x)

P.S.: Why aren't you in BLÔW anymore?

Ok, noted :) but you where sort of in defense mode x), maybe unintentionally.

I guess i sort of agree, money could be better spend. And due to the magnitude of the community at this stage it would be very hard to come over as "connected" as they did in open beta.

Aldo truth be told, i would not mind an "attempt" at this from the devs, be it even very small.

Reddit seems like a bit of ego-stroking at this point. Opposed to these forums imo.
Here people are "on-fire" for the game they love, otherwise they would not type the things they type, this means that about 85% of these post's filled with anger where typed in an emotional setting(love and hate you know, so close together etc). However when you filter this out, usually u get a nice sum-up of issue's that would beat 10 reddit post's combined because the thread creator did not mind shitting in Chriss his backyard.

And here a post that shit's in Chriss his backyard is not down-voted by a group mentality that idolizes GGG.

I love GGG, and have respect for what they achieved else i would not have donated in the first place. But there are still issue's that can use improvements, and i am not talking about the rotten dead horse we call desync, that could probably offer counselling to severely abused women at this point.

Ps : kicked by Charan for speaking my mind, he is highly intolerable from time to time, and has no clue what "assumptions" mean.
Again no harm intended, just an observation i made.

here's an idea, lets make it extremely difficult to find good loot, that will make our game very repayable! -_-

Phase 2: ?

After reading through 11 pages of stuff... no one has come up with a solution to the problem we all seem to agree upon which is drop rates.

I have 3k ish hours played over the last year + and best item I found was a shaves in onslaught. No eternal no mirror. I know mirrors are rare but 3k hours and still haven't found one? Ok so my RNG sucks.

My solution would be to implement a exchange system for uniques. As example you got your character to lvl 70, you can exchange you lvl 70 character for x unique item. You could have different tier of this. As example, voltaxic, soultaker, shav's, koams, could be lvl 80 exchange.
While lioneye, bor, and other lesser still powerful uniques could be lvl 70. You could even add rares into the mix that have X mod's on them up to 2 for crafting purposes.

This would allow you to slowly build up an amazing character and give a lot of replay ability to the game since you would always be rerolling new character to get to x level to get x item.

It would also give balance to the economy because x item would be worth x currency since they would fall into the same item tier.

Now my idea's not perfect but hey, it's a start.

So TL:DR get character to lvl 80, exchange character for unique, 70/80 character is no longer playable and is deleted.
