That is my exact point, in d2 you need a dedicated mf farming char to get anything (unless you trade 50 million tiny currencies like chips or perfs). In poe you can get by just by playing the game.
it never took me that long to get good gear in d2. you can have a lot of fun just having your end-game set items which did not take long to get.
also, it took all of 5 minutes to kill Andy, Meph, Diablo on a MF sorc with not even that great of gear. you can do runs back to back to back and it feels like you aren't whole a whole lot, when in PoE it takes a bit to do runs, and also most people can't do maps alone.

To new at PoE, but thinking a mix of d2 and poe would be  : )

My main point that I was getting at before is the definition of "end game". In both games things start off relatively easy where you are basically naked with a weapon in hand getting upgrades off random white items on the ground. Slowly but surely you need better stuff to progress (depending on build) the difficulty/time curve gets steeper.
In poe there is a level of endgame that did not exist in d2, both in terms of rarity and difficulty (both are connected anyways), the rarest items in poe are much more rare and difficult to get than the rarest in d2. In d2 you could get bis gear that is maybe a few stats off from perfect if you farmed enough. In poe you probably will not get things close to the best because there is only a handful on the whole fucking server.
Like I said the system is sure to flare up some people OCD for being able to obtain the best stuff, but the game is better for it in the end.

But your post kinda proves the point of why I don't believe increasing drop rates would make a difference in the perception of I want to find that.
What I mean is, if you only want the unique to sell it, which SO many people do. Increasing the drop rates of said items would make them less valuable. So it's a push.
If you want to make a build with it that's one thing, if you want to find them to sell them, do you not understand asking for higher drop rates won't net you your big payoff?
What if, God forbid, I wanted to make a SECOND character?! I don't mean another piece of shit char with inferior gear that I end up having to turn into yet another boring IIR runner. I'm saying that if 2h weapons go up to 900 dps then why is 460 the best found for me in over 3k hours? Why can't a 500 dps weapon drop every 3k hours? In retrospect, 500 dps is fucking nothing when 900 exists. Vs 3k+ hours, and I have found half of a weapon's potential...lol what?
In D2 we all had a stash full of duped runes. Did we worry about economies, stocks, bonds, and char retirement? Nope! We made more chars! Badass chars that smashed shit. Then we made more again. Is it that bad if I find a full Sigon's Set by level 40(when I can actually use the shit), or is it better for the economy that I find nothing for 2 difficulties and then 500 worthless uniques in row in 70+ maps? Why do you care if I find a better weapon and put it on my Scion? I'm not going to ruin your game experience with it.
Personally, I don't give a shit about economies. I don't care what you found. It doesn't bother me if you found 10 Kaom's in a row last night. The mentality of "someone somewhere found something some time, so now you should be having fun" is silly.
I suggest you carefully read what I wrote, and what it was in response to. Instead of frothing at the mouth.
You sold an anvil, and seemed happy you found something to *sell* In no way, shape, or form did I say drops couldn't be better, or that I gave a rats ass about the economy. I just find it odd, that many players who complain about said economy, are the ones who sell tons of uniques. Or what to find higher tier ones to sell.
Why not make a character with the anvil for example?

First, there is no reason to start making this personal with tiny insults.
There are 2 reasons I don't make a new character with The Anvil.
1. My character now doesn't feel complete. Having a 500 dps 2H in Nemesis is somewhat rare compared to most, but it's half of what the best 2 hander could be. I'm not asking for the best to drop, but my weapon is literally half of what the best is, which means I'm really nowhere near where I want to be. Now if I had a 700 dps weapon, it would still be far from the best, but I could be happy with that. 12 hours a day for a couple of months is a lot of time played.
2. I don't want another inferior char, with half ass gear that can't fully clear content, and ends up having to load a bunch IIR because the drop rates are so bad. Believe me, I would love to have several badass chars like the old D2 days, but this game doesn't permit that.
It's okay for people to have 20 lvl 60 mildly geared chars that they enjoy, but a lot of us aren't wired that way. Some of us want REALISTIC progression if it is AVAILABLE. I'm not a casual player asking for 6 links to rain from skies of Wraeclast. I am the opposite...a complete loser who grinds this game non stop the most efficient way possible, and flips items to make profit.

I agree, so I'm curious, other than to make a tiny insult, what did you mean by this?

And a 3 of a kind of these pieces of shit, which are probably worth more than your account of sc only chars
That high horse you're trying to ride? It just bolted.
I didn't say that I don't retaliate. I'm calm and ask nicely until provoked. See how you're provoking me now by going completely off topic and trying to start up an old argument from a few hours ago? I don't know what you're trying to gain but I'm not going to let it bother me, and tbh you're coming off as pretty childish right now. I apologize if your attempt at angering me has proven fruitless. Have a nice day.

I have seen videos of chars that do 2x lvl 78 dominus easily without freeze mine cheese with their most expensive items being soul taker and bor. Of course thats in SC although I would argue if you play in a mode that forces everyone to give up dps to be near immortal tanks then complain about dps, its sorta funny.

Everyone knows that the true mark of a "near immortal tank" is a shield, and I don't wear one. I prefer the "if you kill shit faster than it kills you then you don't need defense". But seriously, regardless of league most people are looking for an all around 'complete' char, and everyone has different goals they set for themselves. For the amount of time that I play, I feel my goals should be obtainable without trade flipping.
