The obvious micro transaction cash grab?

Yup, I swear all these trolls responding and defending this horrible point allocation at the 5 and 10 dollar levels are incapable of basic math.

Well, it's like I implied earlier, this scam is very effective when your customers don't value their money. Which means this scam shouldn't be applied to a FREE TO PLAY GAME. You know, the kind of game people play to gain VALUE for their MONEY.

It's not very smart to try to scam people that appreciate value.

Maybe they realized they weren't going to be able to make budget on the bandwidth they've experienced today.

And I'd like to reiterate that the micro transactions are optional. You don't need them to be successful at this game, let alone, play.

That doesn't make any sense. Points cost $0 to make. They can give us the 4 extra points at no cost.

You're simply arguing against the normal micro transaction process. This is how it's done. You are incentivised to buy more at a time to get more points. It's part of the micro transaction business plan. To not do it this way creates a situation where the costs and revenue do not break even.

20 dollars. That's about 4 trips to a fast food joint. Why not make sandwiches for 4 days. 20 dollars to essentially buy a great game is not too much. It's cheap.

Would you prefer a subscription?

Would you prefer a 60 initial purchase then, the rest free?

If you prefer the micro transaction system, then this is it. You are incentivised to buy more points because of the threshold where they can solidify their business plan. And in GGG's case, that business plan does NOT consist of greed.
I don't get it why you're all so upset about...
It's basicly this situation:
You are going to the supermarket with $4,60.
You want to buy for example ketchup.
The (higher tier) ketchup is $5.
The cheapest ketchup is $2,50.
and when you go to the atm you need to get atleast $5 to buy the (higher tier) ketchup.

I'm fine how the shop is right now.
Yes i am a silver supporter but most people that whine about this are the people that joined when Open beta started. I can see not everybody is as rich but the fact is you can buy something with the $5 package it's not like you can't buy anything...
If the package was $5 for 50 and the item was 55 people would still get upset nothing changes.
It would be a cashgrab if there was a package and you couldn't buy anything with it.

And this is the first day of Open Beta give GGG a break. Maybe they will change it in the future, maybe not. It's all optional anyway.

Stop being entitled guys. You already getting Full game for free. it's like saying. You WANT it. Need =/= want.

Oh, we will still be playing the game alright.
But the cash item part...

I hope you understand.
The server doesn't run on it own for free.
Moreover, the game is now free.
And if they don't try to get every dollar they could...
The rest you get it.

I'll be playing it too, but instead of getting my money, GGG is getting nothing from me until they fix this obnoxious system.

I'm not entitled, I WANT to pay. If you cant see the failure of the 5 and 10 dollar tiers you fail at basic math. It needs to be fixed if they want my money.

Do you really think someone that values 5 dollars would purchase fast food?

yes. yesterday the stash tab pack was $15. today it's $20. maybe price gouging isn't the correct term semantically, but, they did increase the price of the stash tab pack.

what .. the .. ?

stash tab pack in my store (assuming we're seeing the same one) is 150 GGGold. how is that $20 ?

Add 46 and 96

that's what you get for $15. I will give you a hint: it's less than 150.

the price of the item (whether it's stash tabs or fun lizards) has not at all changed. you now simply have many options available to obtain the amount of GGGold you need to purchase said item.

you can:

a) spend the $ you have available to you today to get that item, but get the lower exchange rate that is on offer

or

b) wait until next week when you can use slightly more $ that you now have in your pocket to get the better rate

note: in neither of these situations did the item's original GGGold price change.

Exactly ... 'The server doesn't run on it own for free.'. They are trying to survive only on cosmetic items (and a bit more storage).

Why be so entitled.

I was unaware that the shop didn't give you change... ~snerk~

Your analogy MIGHT work if the shop only sold you goods if you used SHOPBUX and the ketchup cost 500 SHOPBUX and you got 496 SHOPBUX for 5 dollars. Suddenly that bottle of ketchup is 10 dollars real money. THAT is what's happening here.

Everything you've said is off topic. We're talking about how the price of points have changed, not the price of items, you may want to read the OP before posting in a thread.
