I guess it is the idea of what it potentially portrays. It is not that the actual chained women on the health and mana orbs that are offensive as much as the fact of what kind of dismissive thought they represent. The fact that casual sexism is rampant and it is not something likely to go away in a few years or even decades.

If over time the small things stop depicting casual sexism all over the place it will permeate. People will then realise when it occurs more readily because its NOT normal then.

And DrunkenCain made a good response regarding the violence and how its purpose is narrative based.

It is an interesting debate regardless and an impossible one at the same time. It is very delicate and subtle.

I might personally think nothing of the "sex slaves" but that in and of itself is part of the problem.

And i hate plate-bikini's. If i play female characters in fantasy games it is the one thing that i hate more then anything. I want them wearing full armour not some skimpy outfit.
