GGG Please Figure out how to stop Boosting (screenshots included)

I want boosting to stop. I also want Enfeeble nerfed. Does that mean I'm going to stop using it because I think it should be nerfed?
Should I use a crappy spell because its "OP" also?
Are you listening to yourself? Should I party with higher level people get crap exp? No I'm forced to boost to compete (boosting is NOT BREAKING A RULE!!!). If its not boosting its other issues like. I'm forced to play solo to get the best exp. I want that fixed too. Does that mean I will play in a group of 6 guys playing next to each other? When I know its not as good as Solo play in races?
Think for a second before you post, and ask yourself. What if GGG thinks boosting (like in D2) is legit? Now you are at a choice. You can NOT boost and likely quit the game, and clearly lose races. OR you can boost and play the game how GGG feels it should be played.

I think boosting is really bad for the game. Just as much as I feel that Temporal Chains is OP, and Enfeeble is OP.
Until GGG comes out and says "hey this system is broken and if you use it you will be in trouble" I will do it, as its the best way. I know GGG will fix this shortly, because of actions like mine, and others who have brought it to the light. I expected it 4+ weeks ago. But clearly it wasnt shown just how over powered it was.


Let me show you a prime Boosting issue that has NOTHING to do with level 1s, and why forcing a level requirement or a /players n will not fix this issue.

This is SEPT 16th event, over 4 weeks ago. At 105 mins into the graph you can see what a group of boosting in a 3 hour party race can do.
You get 1 group to go exp as a 5 man group in the same zone as 1 other guy goes another direction.
5man group gets 4.25x / 5 man exp. The guy going off alone is getting 4.25x exp. All are near the same level at the 105 mark.
This has NOTHING to do with level 1's. Making a min level for people in a zone is going to do almost nothing for this issue.
Making a /players n is going to fix this issue, but cause everyone to play solo at /players maxn which isnt fun at all.

Stop crying about people doing something you dislike. Its not breaking a rule. Do I want to do this? NO I dont want to have to win a race using silly tactics like this. I want to win through understanding of the game, and playing better.

Am I going to gimp myself and play with only 1 weapon because you think its "hardcore" or "manly" or something, no. Im going to figure out the best most OP build I can, using the best most OP skills I can, using the best most OP gear I can, and play it very well. Using the best tactics I can to get the most exp in the least amount of time.


Its like people crying because people skip zones or mobs or using ALT F4 if they get close to death.
Its NOT BREAKING A RULE. Its a tactic. Until that tactic is nerfed, fixed, or called a cheat, it will be used by people. Thus forcing people to compete to use it.

Close Beta is for testing, I'm not hiding my boosting which I can easy do. I made a many posts about it.

MrDDT I think people understand that it is broken, they just despise people who are still abusing it. You can't really explain that, it is a matter of taste and how you see the world. For example some people don't need rules to distinguish what's good and what is not, some people do. Some people see the good as simple following rules, some see it elsewhere. Just enjoy your boosting and let others cry about it, no explanation will change this kind of disagreement.

DDT posted that he didn't do it in a race. How is he a hypocrite? I want boosting to stop, but I do it myself. I don't want people to stop boosting. I want an actual fix. I want either a player count command or a change to party mechanics that would encourage every member of your group to be very active.


He is doing it in the race right now. The one month race is about to close and in my opinion the number one spot in HC should go to Prozon, both panda and Mrddt have boosted their way to where they are.

I'm not doubting that Prozon put in the work, however, he also grouped with level 60s when he was 78+ is this considered boosting?

I'm not taking anything away from Prozon for doing good work. However, even without boosting I could have beat him. I have no doubt, because of how his maps were run and other things.

Panda and I have done a lot of testing, and breaks because we are not in a rush. I even told Prozon I wasnt going to take second from him. He told me today that he isnt playing anymore because he is out of currency and maps, and for me to go ahead and do it.


What if I get my friends to give me high level maps? Or other tactics? I'm not trying to justify that boosting should be in the game. However, it is in the game and you should use advantages to play. Just like I picked the class I did because its an advantage. High DPS, high HP, good defense.

Where do you draw the line? Because you dont like a rule do you say "hey I'm not going to use it" while knowing others will?

Anyways, focus on the topic instead of the race itself. It seems to me you are more about the race and many others like you are upset about THIS race, instead of the game as a whole.

Use what ever you want. i was just correcting that persons assumption that you didnt use it in races. My opinion on the matter should be obvious. i never once called it exploiting or cheating..even thou i think it is unfair to those of us who dont. what ever your reasons for doing it are you cant deny that those who are not suffer because of it. Playing with other people who are lower level, higher level, sharing maps what ever..in no way compares to using boosters. You just cant justify it, even thou it isnt illegal or bannable. Just my and many others opinion.

I myself am a working man, i have limited time to play on work days. I put a lot of effort into getting as high on the ladder as i could. A few untimely deaths have helped me out, but it is disheartning to see others exp gain go threw the roof so easily. i just wanted to win a demi before OB hits, otherwise i would have given up long ago.


Edit..i am pleased that you have done that for prozon, it does show class. he busted his ass trying to keep up or pass panda.

I do not despise someone for boosting. There is a very big difference between boosting in PoE and mugging an old lady in the street (something I might despise a person for). I intentionally word my posts harshly to make a point, but it is not personal. I know plenty of players in default league that boost and would never talk about it in game.

Here on the forums I think it is very important to make it clear that I think players should not be boosting, because the developers read these forums. In my opinion, booating is not much better than botting or duping.

And fwiw, I am quite capable of purchasing beta keys and running VMs if they were needed.

i dont understand how can you on one hand say things like "i want boosting to stop" and "its bad for the game" on the other hand you keep doing it

why dont you set an example? do you value "success" above all?how does it feel when you know if you played only one account you wouldnt be able to compete? you are not in top 10 because you are skilled player do you realize that? aint no skill in running multiple computers,my 6 year old nephew can do it...

ggg have never said scaming you in trade is forbidden - yet im not gonna do it because its something i naturaly wouldnt do and i naturaly wouldnt run multiple accounts because i seriously doubt one of the ggg staff said in the first meeting "lets make a game where players have to play multiple accounts"

maybe im expecting too much maturity from you,i dont know how old are you but for me looking for holes to make me win in games stoped being funny when i was like 15

i dont know you so ill give you pass (and i dont want to be harsh on you personaly when there are also others),maybe you need to be in top 10 instead of top 30 because otherwise you d be sad or something,so have it for all i care...its just really interesting behaviour,it seems like you really want not to do it but you just cant help yourself

I find it sad, when one of our community members is trying the hardest to come up with GOOD solutions, is also being criticized the hardest.

The only good solutions I see are

a) Attacking the group bonus functionality
b) legitimizing the tactic (with the /players command)
c) making it so difficult to run a low level character through merciless that this practice becomes more trouble than it's worth

I personally prefer c).
