I play a lot of dota 2, what are you talking about?

Steam is fine. I havent had a single problem with it..

Client sucks, customer service is slow, and it has the exact same harsh DRM as most companies. People are just fanboys. The one good thing about Steam is that it doesn't force its DRM on publishers, and it has good sales.

"client sucks" elaborate?

customer service - don't really see why you need customer service, but who has good customer service anyways.

the problem with Linux and Steam OS is that Windows is the platform for all 99% of the games, so there is no point in making my life harder without any real advantage

People need to drop this attitude. There is 0 reason for Windows to be the only gaming OS. Linux is not going to make your life harder if it is supported.

I'm not saying that Windows should be the only gaming OS , because it clearly isn't with the console market and Amd pulling Mantle api to the pc platform. What i'm trying to say is that if i would change to Linux i would want all my games to work from the start.

Gta V made over one bilion in 3 days on console market, that should tell you how powerful that market is.

Steam survey : current Mac users 3%, Linux 1%.

Are there any advantages to Linux? because i can't see any

And how many games are there for each platform? How much support is there for each platform? From my perspective, it's safe to say that after a couple of years the numbers will be really different from this, if valve plays the cards well on steam os.

Valve is going to want a cut of any money GGG makes if the game is on Steam. I don't think that idea sits well with GGG at this point.

They can always release it for Linux in general, without bothering with steam on linux.

I would even pay $20 for the privelege, of running PoE on a dedicated gaming machine, especially one running a fun version of linux.

Longevity.

They pay more per game, on average, than their pc and mac counterparts.

Think about this, $1600 on a mac, $800 on a pc, slightly less on a linux machine. Who has more money to spend on games?

Just like more people donate at less expensive grocery stores, more people on linux have more money to spend on games = fact.
