Except that many months ago, I remember people on this forum admitting to and deffending the use of Alt F4 on HC, and never seeing anything wrong with it. Its also very easy to say 'But I don't alt f4 and no one I know does', while you and the people you know go ahead and do so when no one can find out.

What HC players were once proud of as a survival mechanic in this game has now become a state of denial and guilt for them.

Though all that's really required is for GGG to implement a feature that keeps your character logged in for a minute if you alt F4, and any death after a log out to count. The HC population would probably drop by half at least if that got implemented.

You died because you have 700 life. You got stunned/stunlocked. Yeah the resyncing code sucks, but you can't seriously have that happen and not realize that you would be dead anyway even if you had stayed in sync.

Even desynced, movements still occur. You didn't run into anything, as there was nothing there to get hung on. You died because your build sucks. But, carry on, its not like you need to learn basic things in softcore.

Bring it on. I guarantee me and my entire guild would still play hardcore.

If you really wanted to stomp out "tactical retreat" as a viable survival move, you'd ask that portals take time to cast or that waypoints and zone transitions weren't instant... And I'd still play hardcore.

Point 1. No decoy totem vs 5+ enemy's.
Point 2. no zealoths oath/soul reaper to replenish ES when mainly ES based.
Point 3. no oss used durring the fight, knowing full well "stuns" are a given with that hp pool.
point 4. no curses used on group of 5+ (enfeeble maybe?)
Point 5. no granite flask used/equiped
Point 6. No artic armor with mana leftover when facing 5+ enemy's.

Clearly nothing could have saved him in that situation. If this video is all you got,i am sorry. But the L2P comment fully aplie's in this situation. a charger wil stun a 2000hp based char in cruel fully charge range. This guy did nothing to save his char.

i prefer to log out instead of alt-f4 (alt-f4 at least on my PC takes like 3/4sec to shot down)

Its a CI character by the way that was waiting for better ES gear before taking CI. Currently the same character is at level 78, 1 HP, 0 Armor, 4,500+ ES and face tanking in maps after a Claw / CI / GR / VP respec (I didn't play the game for the last 5+ months).

That video was taken long before all the melee buffs and AI nerfs. For a level 55 character at the time it was sufficient and got up to level 73 before needing respeccing.

However I didn't die in that video due to my HP, I lasted over 15 mins, and that same build at that level was facetanking Kole and Brutus effortlessly. The only issue was the whirling blades induced desync which still happens today, and that would get you killed in most instances if it happens to you.

Its pretty pathetic really that you blame an obvious dwsync on character build when I was playing it absolutely fine.

Things like power outages do actually happen. If your character stayed around after a d/c from that, there would be a lot of unhappy people.

No. That would be BS if you get a PKer in the bandit quests and you couldn't TP out.

Casting a TP from a scroll takes significantly longer than Alt F4ing, you couldn't do it the same amount of time that you can hit Alt F4. If you have time to put up a TP or use a WP, then you weren't in the same situation that some players would typically use Alt F4 in.

That's just another excuse to defend keeping Alt F4 to escape death in the game. Power outages happen incredibly rarely, far less often than an ISP or client side DC or crash.

Did you read what I posted? THAT is the point im making, he was hardly challenging himself or taking his expertise to a new level by alt f4ing a random modded crem boss with a 7k es pool without trying a bit.
