Yeah, like that whole part about killing monsters, collecting loot, and leveling up.
I showed both of these games to my niece, and she could not tell the difference between them besides the artistic aspects.
Unless you get deep into mechanics and shit, these games are remarkably similar at their core.
They are in the same genre for crying out loud. They have more things in common than things that separate them.
to your niece ... ok. 'nuff said ... you must be trolling ... i mean a lada and a lambo both got wheels and use octane and need to be steered by you and shit, you know.

Oh and also, PoE already borrows things from Diablo 3.
Check out the sound/graphics when a monster drops a unique item in Path of Exile....
LOOK FAMILIAR? Thought so.
Too bad they can't borrow the netcode...............................
its ironic i cant coun't the times i had desync in the arreat crater level 2 anymore, and never had any in poe. lol

Yes, of course.
I mean we need go no further than an awesome physics engine, that would be terrible in any game, because D3 had it.
SMH
ok you have a valid point, fair enough. The physics engine is cool. The graphics, though somewhat better in places, I dont really like over poe's. Poe's could use some improvements but with high settings on a beast pc, some areas like lunaris, catacombs, etc are truly beautiful.

Why people only talk about Loot 2.0 ..when there is better stuff coming along with it like Paragon 2.0 , Loot Runs , Nephalem Trials and w/e new stuff is yet to be announced on Blizzcon?
I dont care about Loot 2.0 ... im sold on the "Endgame for everyone" they talked about.
I eager to try the Paragon 2.0 and all the stat/atributes allocation points.

You arent going to find anything worth using in d3. The grind is arguably worse than poe's. My dear god, when will people understand this is the genre, and its based off the concept of rng?!?!

Have you guys actually read about loot 2.0?
It doesn't address the fundamental failing of the loot in Diablo 3... Gear is basically stack main stat + whatever form of the trifecta you can find...
There was very little gear that was particularly interesting, and when they "fixed" legendary drops they invalidated rares for many of the gear slots.
Loot in Diablo 3 ex-pac will still be less interesting than loot in PoE regardless of how high that main stat can go or how easy it becomes to find an upgrade.
and let me blow your minds for a few seconds people... Seriously, hold on to your hats here, this next statement is monumental...
THE LONGER YOU PLAY AN ARPG, THE HARDER IT IS TO FIND AN UPGRADE
It doesn't matter how smart you make the loot system. If you play enough you will hit an end point where you cannot find upgrades. That means the goal of the game cannot simply be "keep improving one character". That is where Diablo 3 failed miserably. PoE with its different leagues and multiple builds for each character at least gave a solid attempt to give its players reasons to keep playing.
Amen to everything said here

As said many times on this thread ... Loot 2.0 is ok with the build changing legendaries, smart loot , etc .... but you when have all the gear you want ... you wonder what you can do with all that power hence the new systems coming Soon before the xpac like the Nephalem Trials and w/e.
The loot on this type of games gets boring once you have everything you want ... at this point in time players need proper endgame to use that gear and refresh their gameplay experience.

endless dungeon / random waves at ANY Time > mapping bro
or do you enjoy RNG being your end game?
theres no endless dungeon or waves in d3. There is waves in the unique crypt map in PoE, you know, actually in the game right now. They have endless ledge and descent, which have a chance of being added to the full leagues long before you see a Diablo 3 expansion pack on the shelves. You are measuring Blizzard Promises against PoE reality, and not even doing a good job of that. D3 are also adding maps, why not talk about that too seeing as everything you mention that has been promised for D3 is either already in PoE or will be before its a reality in D3.
loot 2.0 is a clusterfuck, if you go and look at the items they are previewing to show it off they are complete dogshit jokes for build defining items. 'Chance to spawn a hydra on kill' really? Thats a build defining unique that puts PoEs items to shame? Get real mate the items in d3 are a joke, will always be a joke, theres no builds to base items off and theres no items to base builds off because theres no mechanics in the game to support either.
1) diablo 3 actually has a dueling system where you dont have to QUEUE to find someone (lol @ queue i mean what are we in 1990?)
2) accoutn bound MF > all
3) endless waves in expac - due out mid 2014? - lame but who cares, they DANGLE a carrot and keep players coming back
which is what blizz is good at. draining little kiddies and their bank accounts
PoE has bandits quest where you can actually do real pvp outside of town if you want.... Arena pvp in either game is stupid and pointless.

I only talk about Loot 2.0 because for me that's all that matters... Playable content is great and all, but the real farmers don't care about the content. They care about the gear. If the Nephalim trials are anything like the events that are already in Diablo three they will be completely wasted. If they give less rewards than the next rare pack they will be wasted. If they give the correct amount of gear it will be a solid change. But if the gear sucks or is boring it doesnt matter. That's really my point...

Imagine if Blizzard had put in-game advertisement inside Diablo 3.

In fact, it would have been so overly negative that GGG never would have done it.
All those same people here who think it's "fine" in PoE would have lambasted Blizzard for it endlessly.
thats why they are fanboys ...

If blizzard had put in-game advertisement inside D3 i would think: Why?
I had to pay 40 bucks just to play it and thats the way they make money (together with the cut they get from the RMAH)
I would ask why, but I wouldn't care too much if it's not as intrusive.
But still D3 being a Pay to play game has no legit reason to put in in-game ads.

I would ask "what". What kind of product would be suitable to be used in D3? Some kind of a "turing curse" spell with apples and all?
I mean, I do not like D3 but its obvious that Blizz would not use MacDonalds ads for product placement.
And guessing what they would use is kinda funny)
