Yeah, like that whole part about killing monsters, collecting loot, and leveling up.
I showed both of these games to my niece, and she could not tell the difference between them besides the artistic aspects.
Unless you get deep into mechanics and shit, these games are remarkably similar at their core.
They are in the same genre for crying out loud. They have more things in common than things that separate them.
Try to have such a conversation about art...
It's all paint on a canvas and for some people they are all just painting. But try to tell people in the know that Picasso is just like van Gough and they might kill you.

Thats like saying 'POE is bad, I have the solution ... make it worse!!!'
PS Where is startkabels?
Yes, of course.
I mean we need go no further than an awesome physics engine, that would be terrible in any game, because D3 had it.
SMH
Casually casual.

If you are comparing ARPG's to great historical works of art, then we are already not speaking in the same terms....
They are not really comparable, especially given your example is outside of the context (the context being: borrowing things from other works)

Have you guys actually read about loot 2.0?
It doesn't address the fundamental failing of the loot in Diablo 3... Gear is basically stack main stat + whatever form of the trifecta you can find...
There was very little gear that was particularly interesting, and when they "fixed" legendary drops they invalidated rares for many of the gear slots.
Loot in Diablo 3 ex-pac will still be less interesting than loot in PoE regardless of how high that main stat can go or how easy it becomes to find an upgrade.
and let me blow your minds for a few seconds people... Seriously, hold on to your hats here, this next statement is monumental...
THE LONGER YOU PLAY AN ARPG, THE HARDER IT IS TO FIND AN UPGRADE
It doesn't matter how smart you make the loot system. If you play enough you will hit an end point where you cannot find upgrades. That means the goal of the game cannot simply be "keep improving one character". That is where Diablo 3 failed miserably. PoE with its different leagues and multiple builds for each character at least gave a solid attempt to give its players reasons to keep playing.

Anyway talking about this at a point where in less than 2 months we will have some huge changes is maybe immature? We dont know at all how things are gonna improve but this doesnt mean they wont.If GGG did the same as Blizzard and announced the release features 1 year before we could really discuss about this but now? Just w8 and lets discuss this after release maybe?
Now is the exact time when you want to have this discussion. While the ability to effect change exists. You don't want to wait until everything is done and then say, "Well.... Actually we wanted X, not the Y that you're giving us".

I haven't. Nor have I played D3. But since POE is a total bust for me I'll definitely be looking into the changes they plan on making in D3 and seeing if solo play actually works there (solo including economic activity). In short, I want to play self-found and if the only self-found league is in Blizzard-land then that's where I'll play.
I find the loot in POE the most boring thing I've ever seen. They might as well all drop gold.
I don't trade. I don't group. My comments reflect that.

D3 is more tuned to the trader than PoE is. Trading there is central to the game.

Don't waste your time with D3 then. It doesn't have a self found league either, and the loot is far worse than here. I can suggest Dungeon Defenders if you need a loot fix. The loot in there has its own issues but it has its own unique flavor as well!

Odd that there is almost zero trading in D3... There is currency exchange for goods if that's what you meant... But there's almost no trading at all.
You want to play D2 or PoE if you want to see trading. Lots of that in those two games.

If self-found is your thing, Torchlight 2 is your game.
