Torchlight 2, anyone going to buy it?

If the game debilitating lag in POE doesn't improve for me then I might be looking at picking Torchlight 2 up. I am only conforted in the thought that it will be nothing like D3. Thanks God.
Standard Forever
loved TL1, will be playing TL2 for a long time
I will be most definitely!

I believe step one is to find a job so I can afford to drop the 20.

Feel as though I wasted 60 bucks on D3 as the game is not up to standards now!

Torchlight I is excellent. I love the frequency of legendary drops.

I think all the ARPGs out there can take a few tips from the TL system. Especially the pets which allow you to continue adventuring without having to frequently return to town/camp/outpost/whatever to sell items and clear out inventory.

25 minutes of TL2

slow because he describes a lot of the mechanics and demonstrates a lot of the skills

he's level 51, but is in a lower Act because Runic has asked the press not to show the later Acts

Is it true that everyone can just dupe and get the best gear, since it's open to offline? If so, it's not for me.

If someone makes a mod for it, then it might be possible.

Dude, why did you buy TL2 thru steam if you don't like it? (if I understand you good). On 20 september you can buy the game directly from runic site, with no need for steam at all.

I haven't bought it at all yet, and I don't know if I ever will. At least I need 100% proof that we don't need Steam to play it. But knowing Steam, I might as well ask a pig to fly.

Here is official from runic devs.

The Perfect World version of Torchlight II cannot be added to Steam (see: http://forums.runicgames.com/viewtopic.php?p=288189#p288189), but you should be receiving your key for the standalone installer around the time we release. Did you send your support ticket to Perfect World, or directly to us? I wasn't able to find your email in our support mailbox. Thanks!

Thanks, man. I do believe you. The problem is I don't trust anything that has to do with Steam. We can't even pre-order the non-Steam version yet. So yeah, I'm skeptical.

you can take your single player char into LAN and Internet games

they are releasing the dev tools, and they are encouraging people to mod (to add new classes, new skills, new dungeons, new items)

you can take these mods into online multiplayer games, but each player has to have the mod installed

char files are saved locally, so even if you don't mod, you you can edit your char file and give it more strength and life and so on and take your hacked char online

but the game has "inspect" so you can look at other characters and see their gear and stats

it also has some sort of feature that warns you if a player's stats look suspicious (1000 life at level 20 for example)

if you suspect a player of cheating (map hack, hacked chars, whatever) you can kick them out of your game and black list them so no char of their's can ever join a game of yours again

Reminiscent of the Diablo 1 days. "Legit" circles vs ppl that duped and used trainers. The problem was, 95% of ppl cheated.

TL2 seems like casual land. Fun if you wanna play with friends or family, kind of like Nintendo. I'll stick to competitive games though, but that's just me.

If you go to the main page of Torchlight 2 website. The soundtrack for the game is available for download.
Sometimes you can take the game out of the garage but you can't take the garage out of the game.
