I have to say TL2 combat feels much more responsive, fast-paced and fun than POE.

IMO core gameplay is still the weakpoint for POE in the ARPG genre; it's not fast enough, movement still feels (relative to other big titles) clunky, and skills are still not responsive enough.

If those are improved up to the standards that D3 and TL2 set, then POE would be more or less perfect.

I hear that from all my friends, but I just can't understand it at all.
Yesterday evening I played PoE and T2 back to back for some time. In PoE all attack animations ar 2x-5x faster, the delay between a click and the attack is shorter, and when I hit a group of enemies with an aoe attack, I can really feel hitting every single enemy, while in T2 I feel like I attacked the ground, and then, oh, also, some enemies died.

Hearing this from basically anyone though, means it's true and I just don't/can't notice it. I really have no clue why D3 or T2 would be more responsive or fast paced, least of all more fun than PoE.

I second this, for example the "ground slam" skill in tl2 has such a long animation, that some mobs hit you twice before it goes off...

But i think this goes hand in hand of you noticing things like your character being permanently out of los of enemies, while taking damage (doorways in POE feel delightful after playing tl2), or not being able to move because he tries to shoot at a enemy half a screen away, or tries to pickup a item on the ground or talk to an npc...

These things (targeting, obstacles, movement and hitboxes) are completely broken in tl2 and i guess if you dont notice them as being broken, the combat can appear more fluid and fast :)

Yes, but tf2 don't have closed server, I can summon any item, put god mode, somebody else too even in a lan game is easy to cheat like hell ( everything is clientside ) so they make nice game with hey spam one skill until last boss ( try enginner with cannon lol ) without closed server ... that game will burn out 3 months for that moment max

Only one word.. MODS. The best way to make game be played for long, long time.
Well modding has started even if tools are not out yet.
