Worried about the new supporter packs

I'm surprised GGG don't recognise what people have already contributed and just allocate packs based on what you have paid already.

Some people have paid $100's and will receive no recognition for their support.

imo the packs shouldn't really cost more than the point value, the extra items in the pack should be your reward for reaching that level of contribution.

Everyone that has bought points in this game so far has effectively contributed.

Everyone who bought points has received something for it though. The supporter packs are different as they were specially requested by people who wanted to pay specifically to support GGG without having to chip away in 'small' dollar amounts at stash tabs and the like. Supporter Packs are a bigger commitment, in that sense, and still don't offer any advantage ingame but allow specific recognition of that extra level of commitment to support.

I'd buy it if I was in the financial position... It's quite an honor to work that closely to developers. I'm curious to if anyone will wind up purchasing it.

They even have a 12000 dollar pack. Has playerbase dwindled drastically and their funding cut down heavily? What do you guys think?

I think it's pretty clear they are just responding to the requests they've been getting since OB started to bring back supporter packs. No need to panic, imo.

In the End it is just that ...

I'd like to know how they decided on the price $12,500 for something that in theory shouldn't be anything near that.
I think Chris said that creating a monster costs well over $12,500.

Yeah right.

Depending on how much freedom they are willing to give the donator with, it could very well cost more than that in man hours.

A lot of people, hours, and software goes into making concept art, models, animations, skins, sounds. One person cant do it all, and on top of that dont forget its a donation for game development, they need some left over. Putting your mark on the game is just the icing.
next round of supporter packs 50k will get u design a boss oh yeaaa baby

keep up the good work ggg

This. It should probably include something like a ticket to NZ and get to work close with the team for it to be remotely worth it. Also not giving you the full value of currency points is really not fair for someone spending $12,500.

Maybe because they don't really want to sell it BUT if someone really wanted to set their mark on the game they have the option to.

For a game with "ethical microtransactions", selling a pack that you get a few trinkets and a say on a monster is anything but ethical.

By all means people go ahead and buy it, all I'm saying is it's a rather raw deal on your end and I think GGG know it.

I agree it's not worth it objectively for most of us.

BUT how do you put a price on having influence on a game, there is no "correct" price for that.
Nothing to see here.
next, in Version 1.0, release version, the 1 million$ pack- Design a whole act!
