I think Chris said that creating a monster costs well over $12,500.

Yeah right.

I'm fairly certain that they decided on this figure because there was a supporter in CB who bought 10 (ten!) Diamond packs, as this was the largest pack available (cant remember the guys name)

I'm glad to see that we get to keep our CB and OB forum titles though, I was worried for a second there.

Says the person who bought one.
"Minions of your minions are your minion's minions, not your minions." - Mark
What price should GGG choose for designing a Monster? Thats alot of work. They can´t just sell it for 1-2k. Than they would need to design 50-100 ore even more new Monsters just because of this. This would take forever and people would be pissed because their monster is not in the game 2 years later *lol*

I think they are more happy with 10 people buy a 12k pack than with 100 people buy a 2k pack, where you can design a monster.

In a few days we'll have support for upgrading "Point Packs" to these new packs.

No, one of points was that the new packs actualy cost you more money than you get in points. If I remember rightly the original closed beta packs gave you the full points + the extra items as a kind of thank you. In regard to the way I believe the upgrades will work is that your expected to pay the point cost in order to obtain the pack, (e.g. if for 50$ you only get 350 so you will have to pay the 150 point difference to obtain the equilent pack... at least that is the way i read it)

Yeah, let them spend the money people contributed on Free Effects and Goods for everyone.....logic

It's logic to recognise people have paid money and therefore supported the game development...it's all virtual anyway.

You are clueless about software development.

This. It should probably include something like a ticket to NZ and get to work close with the team for it to be remotely worth it. Also not giving you the full value of currency points is really not fair for someone spending $12,500.

If you can afford to support a video game developer with $12,500 of pocket money, you can fly to NZ in your private plane anytime you want ;)

You clearly underestimate development cost. There goes design, art, scripts, QA, sound and more.
