A bit tired of the "HC master race" attitude.

I was going to add something, as I said, but the past few pages have me wondering if you'd rather I just lock this, my friend. I don't think it's going anywhere.
If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period.

The trollercoaster has no destination. Its all about the ride.

Can't fault that logic, but Falcord doesn't seem the type to actually want his threads to turn into a ride. Thus I present the option to turn the rollercoaster off and shut the park down before someone gets hurt. :)

People are people.

If someone is an Alt+F4 scumbag in Hardcore, they will also be an Alt+F4 scumbag in Default; it's not like there isn't a death penalty to dodge. And vice versa: you can't assume all the death-dodgers are in Hardcore, some are in Default as insurance in case they can't press the keys fast enough.

There are those in Hardcore who have the holier-than-thou, I'm-better-than-you attitude; some of these are hypocrites who death-dodge, most are not, neither have justification for their attitude. But there are also those in Default who have inferiority complexes and conjure up a holier-than-thou feeling in Hardcore players they meet where none exists, and use that to believe they are superior.

And the vast majority of players in Hardcore are not trolling assholes, but good people just playing a game. And the vast majority of players in Default are not trolling assholes, but good people just playing a game.

Good people are everywhere. Trolling assholes are everywhere. Hypocrites are everywhere. (I think on some occasions I pull off being all three simultaneously.)

It's all the same. Hardcore, Default, it doesn't matter; we are all brothers, my brothers.
When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.

Can I ask you SC players just one thing. How is your economy going?
Why you should try Harcore http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/209310/page/1

Yeah, it's not like how totally reasonable it is in HC and the 1 Month Race where I could get ~80 fusings/alch for an exalted.

Point being, everyone has something they're good at it, and most likely quite a fw things they're not.

It's going horribly: but that's our fault. Every time I die I throw out a ton of powerful gear and throw it to a SC player. The fact that upon death we get teleported to softcore means we're inflating their economy.

Now granted, this would happen over time without us, but we're making it worse.

The reason why I don't play standard league is because it doesn't feel like anything.
It's just a grind, pure time sink. Everyone will eventually hit lvl 100 sooner or later.
Not with HC, anyone can drop off anytime, and that's why I can't get myself "motivated" to play soft.

Here's a suggestion to make SL attractive:

Insert a optional "race mechanic" when creating a new char.
This would track many statistics such as average exp/hour, time spent/level, total dmg dealt, dmg taken, distance travelled, etc.

All this data would create a public profile and the top players would get ingame currency and rewards. So it doesnt matter if you are 30, 40, 60 or 90, any char above 20 will have their stats registered and ranked. If you are good, you get rewards. If you slack around like a noob, you get nuffin...

With that in place, hell even I'd play softcore.

lol like poe?
