Auction house Yes/No?
buyouts = no. hell no. burn it with fire
actual auctions (something that almost never happens on d3 auction houses) = sure, i guess best answer = auction-like system where different "top bids" are shown (due to variable currency -- only strictly inferior bids are not shown), seller can pick one of those bids at any time (no auction sniping), and bidder can retract bid at any time (since potentially infinite auction duration) Last edited by PlaceholderText#0668 on May 28, 2013, 9:11:31 PM

I don't play an "A"RPG to sit in town trading. There is no action in that.
I play self found mostly, or trade between friends, have a post up selling stuff (so I can craft) if people find it in a search then sweet, but screw wasting time spamming trade chat. What sucks about games like this is that the "best" players are the ones who are the best traders. Some guy opened a trade window with HVR on his stream and put 600 exalts in it. I doubt thats from finding 20 Kaoms hearts. In an around about way, its like paying RL money for in game advantages in that they spend time not (what I would call) playing but instead making money to buy upgrades. I'm all for some kind of automated shop type of thing, anything but sitting in town trading. Last edited by Guioki#1308 on May 29, 2013, 1:39:24 AM

Compared to a proper auction house system the current system of trading trough the forums is much worse because you have absolutely no guarantee that you will get the item you bid on no matter how high the bid you made was. There are a lot of people who change their mind overnight about their items or simply forgetting about the auction leaving it "in the wind".
Nevertheless implementing a AH will make the game exactly like D3 were people spend most of their time there. |

This game seriously needs a system to buy and sell items from AFK/Sleeping/Inactive users who are too demotivated to log on regularly to set up trades for small bits of currency. The user base isn't going to grow much and at the moment it is pretty terrible trying to trade on the HC league for items worth less than 4-5 chaos. No body is going to get up out of their chair or stop what they're doing unless they are moved by an offer. Also, setting up a trade can be incredibly tedious if you do not log on very often or if the person you are trading with is mostly inactive.
Trading in this game isn't fun. Most people would probably agree doing maps, racing, leveling and even farming feels much more fun and rewarding. People want to play the game. It is difficult to go casual in this game and just log on and do maps for a couple of hours if I need to first trade for map rolling currency for that entire duration just before I can begin. Not fun. Waste of time. I've got better things to do. I want someone to buy my shit when I'm asleep so I can wake up and enjoy myself for the small amount of time I have available when I am busy with school or work. I think for the distant future, this game will have a shrinking user base and the trade system (especially for the small HC player base) will need automation so buyers can more easily get items and put currency into the hands of sellers without the need for constant searching or advertising. I think an easy way to make it automated would be for seller to set their ratios. For example, scouring = 0.8 points, chaos = 2 points, exalted = 60 points. Once 120 points is matched or exceeded, the item is sold for that set of currency. Last edited by billjg0#1383 on May 29, 2013, 4:27:52 AM

No.
If any of you played Mu online, there is a way to put up your personal item store with your personal defined prices and shop name, online ingame, which is openable by any of the players who decide to take a look at it. That is what i would like to see but trade chat is working fine anyways. Last edited by drlaza#1713 on May 29, 2013, 9:44:48 AM
