the above underlined part of the post is completely wrong. Blizzard did quite well with WoW's AH system.

D3's AH was created and run by a bunch of monkeys sitting in front of typewriters.

Oh and "NO", AH is not suitable for PoE based on the economy of currencies used (i.e. no standard unit).

Partially yes - some "Trade Tab" definetely needed, but without automatic one-click buyout, and there should be message-board for bids to every posted item and functionality same as poe.xyz.is or other indexer. But all the trades still will be done manually, without 12h auctions and other shit.

Trading system nowadays just HORRIBLE.

Auction house no. But something akin to a marketplace yes, especially one where you have to pay some orbs to list your items. Would help limit the amount of garbage spammed in forums and trade chat, and provide another nice currency sink.

Atm the whole trading business is nothing but a nuisance unless you sit and stare at trade chat until something you need pops up.

The way to trade/sell items defiantly needs some work, but auction house like in D3 oh god fucking no.

It's a hard one to think about what needs to be done exactly, but there needs to at least be a better way to find items in game that are up for trade, it's painful to trade on the trading chat, and a mess to trade on the forums, if something can be done to internally in game (Yes I know there is an external site that made it easier) with a easier interface, would be nice to have. Just don't want to have it like D3 was doing it, while searching for stuff was easy, the way it centralised the game was ughhhhhhh.

The dev admitted in an interview that there would be "shop stash tab" in the future.

But the AH itself is absolutely a bad idea for POE. Make ppl stop playing but to gain profit from market instead? let people purchase power easily without effort of searching/studying?

Even the shop tab will never work the same as AH in D3: in POE ppl are to bid with whatever they want, and the owner himself is to decide what is more valueable since there is no united currency. So dont be surprised if once a bid with 10 alch beats 5 chaos while the another time the 5 chaos win.

btw. I was strong against AH in D3 even before it had been released. Guess many POEer are like me.

Current trading system is great. Works when you put tons of effort into it, but is not better than actually playing the game.

A few months ago I would say no, because "AH would make PoE a trading game", "AH ruined D3", or whatever...

But now I see that in PoE you are forced to trade (ie. play the trading game), if you want to progress in a realistic time-frame.

An automated trading system would save us time, with this unavoidable hassle that is trading. So, yes.
