What the Hell Happened to Gamers?

I just hope they don't listen to all the complainers who practicaly want to 1-tap all content the game has to offer after 2 days into a new league by playing broken builds, idealy with potato gear.

Had an area bossfight now with a whisp on the boss.....Best 4-5 minutes I've ever had in any ARPG for more than 2 decades now, super fun and thrilling fight.

Ofc it took me around 1 minute to see and learn the boss patterns in combination with whisp abilities but once you know the sequence it's easy to beat such encounter (just don't be to greedy, attacking in the wrong moment can casue a death)...I simply love it, no boring 1-tap playstyle and actuall fights vs bosses who deserve the wording "boss". :)

What you said is EXACTLY what they want, because they "don't have time, have a family, have a job, are busy, have 20 wives, and the game doesn't respect their time if it doesn't end instantly".

We'll see if GGG has any spine this time around, last time they catered to these people because they really wanted their money and didn't care about giving up their vision and making their game bad.
What they want is the zoom-zoom.

Anytime someone brings up "respects their time" they mean a zero challenge game they can consume in a weekend. That is why I referenced D4.

Nothing about POE does not respect your time - no offense but you have no idea what you are talking about.
Not respecting time refers to time gates, dailies, weeklies, etc. POE has NONE of those.

No Shiyo. That's what you think it means. That's your assumption.

You've listed off some mechanics that definitely waste time, but PoE does have other issues where it doesn't respect your time either.

Lets take world of warcraft for instance. The game has many of these things. But you know what actually ends up wasting most players time in the game? The little things, like having to drink after every single pull in a dungeon. Graveyards being miles away from the place you died. Having to wait around to fill huge raids. The system that locks you to the raids, so a failed raid means the entire weeks chance at loot is gone. 2 pieces of loot dropping off bosses in 40 man raids. Mechanics in raids where if one person doesn't execute it perfectly, the raid wipes. It ALL adds up. WoW is an amazing example of a game with systems in it that waste time, and at the end of a week of playing, you could've had 10 more hours of fun and enjoyment killing stuff, but instead you spent it running back to dungeons, and watching your raid fail after an idiot stood around with a bomb on him inside of 39 other people.

There's more to time-waste than just dailies. Tons of games are filled with unnecessary bloat, and most people just want more content to do instead.

Not to have an easier or faster game. If they got rid of some of the bloat in PoE. I would play it non-stop. Not even shitting you. 15,000 hours easily.

What happened is GGG catered to these people for 5+ years and they now think that ARPG means "collect loot while you hold down the movement key" when in reality it wasn't supposed to. GGG just really wanted money from the gamblers that will buy every MTX because they are easily manipulated.

Even the creator of this genre is disappointed in what has happened to it and doesn't like it. That says a lot.

100% agree with the OP. Also love this line about people wanting to hold down the movement button and collect loot lmfao.

I really like the recent changes with the game, I definitely think mobs should be made slower so that the player can be more tactical and isn't forced to feel like screen clearing is necessary to play.

Otherwise I really hope the devs don't listen to the players asking for more player power right now.

Hehe, true ...always this excuses just so they don't have to admit that they're either bad in games or to lazy to farm for better gear (or both). ^^

The league runs for 4 months and they already complain why they can't 1-tap faceroll all content the game has to offer within 2 day...2 DAYS!

I bet those are the same who will complain that "there's nothing to do" if GGG gives in and buff every single skill so they can faceroll the game like in D4. XD

Been gaming since pong, gamers are still the same across the board, just more of them that's all.

Yup agree...they have to reduce the speed of some mobs, but those are minor changes and already reported what mobs are a bit overtuned atm.

But in general the pacing is perfect. :)

Someone was talking about penetrating themselves and specified that they did not want the object to be a live cactus

If you want to actually have a discussion about this. Lets do this on discord.

We've had some good back and forths, and you've had a lot of good well thought out responses. But this one is lacking a bit.

I want to try to explain to you ways that games tend to pad your gametime.

Rather than offer you just.. more content to do. Which is what most people actually want when they say 'respect my time'. I'm not sure where you got this idea that they want an easy game, or a fast game. Or that these game pad mechanics are necessary otherwise the game is too easy.

We can have a civil discussion on discord, and I'll help you to understand the concept better.

I also want to be very clear. I'm not asking for any game to be easier when I say this.

My example with WoW. I would play the game more, I would raid more. If some of these things were lessened to be, less frustrating. Not less. Same goes for PoE.

If you're interested, shoot me a PM.
