Better question: Why have an ascendancy that is supposed to test whether you're ready to progress your ascension or start it... by making you do the same randomized dungeon that everyone else does?
Especially with it being heavily reliant on RNG.
It's just lazy development.
Every ascendancy should have its own trials based on the strengths and weaknesses of that ascendancy/class.
AT MINIMUM.
This is how I know you understand NOTHING about games or the design of them.
The whole point of PoE in general is you can make a big tanky ranger or spell casting warrior if you want.
How the hell do you base trials off an ascendancy anyway?
My invoker can do cold damage, or lightning damage, or attack damage, or spell damage, or crits, or triggered spells, or have armor based on evasion.
Do explain how to make a trial that focuses on all those things you can take, while never letting you take all of them? It focuses on cold damage so you can't go lightning? Focuses on attack damage so you can't do cast on anything or spells?
See where it all falls apart? You calling "lazy development" means NOTHING. It would mean NOTHING from someone with skill, experience, and intelligence.
Unless you even try to understand WHY you're mad, you'll never say a damn thing of use to anyone.
"how the hell do you base trials off an ascendancy"
With very simple coding that scans your nodes, stats, gear and with a very simple algorithm generates a dungeon based on your strengths and weaknesses. And if they wanted to get really specific about it, they could have you select your ascendancy nodes in advance to specifically customize the dungeon around the ascendancy nodes you're trying to see if you're ready to progress...
It's not at all hard to do, it's just not something they've even considered because "it worked in POE 1" even though there was always major pushback about the Labs.
Plus, who said I'm mad?
I'm disappointed that this is POE 1.1 instead of a new game, but it is what it is and it's probably not going to change unless Ten Cent steps in and tells them playerbase is more important than their vision.

Are you just here to argue?
I even told you why I said what I said. I'm not going to engage with you anymore since you seem like you just want to troll.
Yes, i'm stating my opinion and you're jumping me for not supporting the game that i didn't play until now = me trying to argue.
You really are projecting in every post you make.

75% of the playerbase are never offline...
That's called "bots".
When the playerbase doesn't move much between prime time and off-time... that's called a game plagued by bots.
^
Is it your status as PoE mega supporter that's providing you with these "facts"?
Are you just here to argue?

"Lazy development" "troll" "disengage"
Blame the devs, discount all other opinions without any reasoning, walk away not knowing the whole world is laughing at you.
God it must be incredibly nice being THAT dumb.

I think we can all just refer to my previous "holy jesus you have no goddamn clue how gamedev works" comment.
Sidenote: I'm still laughing at "very simple algorithm based on these 60 or so stats" XD

I don't want to name-call and sink to his level but yeah, some self-reflection is in order.

Steam charts is showing a 50-60% difference between prime time and off-time, that's roughly 300k players down to 150k players daily not 75% seems like regular fluctuating too me. Where are you getting your info from, maybe we can work to fix the misinformation you received.
LoL... you're going to argue about what's obviously a bot problem? When 120K players are never offline, that's called "bot problem"
You can twist it, argue it, plop it on the ground and pout about it if you want, that's not going to change the fact that it's a bot problem and the player base at any given time during the day is at least 50% bots.
Just like it is at the start of every league in POE 1.

You're mad af. Don't like the game, just don't play and support it.
And it's very easy to tell someone to do something while not being able to do it yourself. If it's easy, show the code and maybe help them out.
Sounds like you can do it in a few minutes.
Or you can just get better at the game and make the trial easy. I also had issues with it my first few runs, now it's a joke and I'm not even playing a meta build.

I get offline, someone else gets on. I go to bed, someone else wakes up. You understand that these are not the exact SAME people on all 24 hours, right?
