I run it and every single run I end up with 10-15 boons and like 5 afflictions. Never the other way around, I'm confused as to how people manage to do this bad, you must path to the afflictions early and brick your run or something, it never gets this bad for me.
I take 50% reduced sacred water on purpose if the alternative is bad and still get a minimum of 10 boons
A lot of afflictions mean nothing at all, gain a minor afflictions when you venerate a shrine, just don't use the shrines. There's one free affliction that means nothing, enemies remove 5% of everything on hit, again a free affliction, reduced honor restored is a free affliction, whatever defense you have be it Armour evasion or es take the one that removes what you don't use another free affliction, every single deals physical damage at end of room are free affliction, traps are faster is literally a skill dependent affliction
Black smoke is a free affliction, and the one that removes rewards isn't bad either because you can still avoid afflictions.
Cannot restore honor until after the boss is free, lose all sacred water on floor completion makes the run no harder either. 50% reduced honor restored doesn't matter.
That's 12 different afflictions that mean nothing.they don't make the run harder if you have max resists, I'd also add increased merchant prices and reduced merchant choices post 3rd floor boss because it doesn't matter by the fourth floor.
Then there's boons that literally negate the affect of some afflictions like see one less room ahead you can buy a boon that let's you see one more room ahead and it effectively removes the penalty.
You can also check shrines that offer a boon and an affliction and not even use them if you don't like the three choices. One of those choices being remove 3 afflictions if you're lucky.
"If you're lucky"
That's the whole problem.
RNG is a huge factor in these dungeons. That's lazy development.
Ascendancies should be specific to the class and ascendancy. After all, are they really trying to test whether or not you're ready to ascend as a face-tanking Titan by making you roll around on the ground to avoid being touched? Or as a necromancer by making you avoid using your minions or specific spells until specific situations so they aren't covering up ground hazards?
It's pretty bad.
Plus, having ANY debuffs... again... is lazy development. People should be able to use their current build AS IT IS and AS IT WAS BUILT to ascend. Not rely on luck in any form.

9/10 of my runs end with triple the boons then the number of afflictions how is that luck based? It's literally learn the mechanic and execute it well. Not get lucky and hope for the best. Many many people run sekhemas with no problems consistently. They don't farm it because it's a luck based thing that they fail 50%+ of the time based on what they got on the way. People are running it with consistent success and a multitude of builds. Learn the mechanic use what you've learned and it's not that hard.

"how is that luck based"
Umm.. it's the part about how you have no control over which ones you're offered? And the fact that you can end up with debuffs that cover which debuffs you can get or which rooms you can go to? I mean... I can go on if you want.
"consistent success"
Utter fantasy.
People are all over the boards complaining about this broken mechanic of ascendancy.

I really don't understand the massive hate waves on sanctum, it does not reflect my own experience with it after several runs on several characters.
Yes you can have a bad run.
No it's not every run unless You as the player make really bad decisions.

Here you are again defending the game.
I wonder, if you love it so much why haven't you ever supported it?

The game released a month ago and your hounding this guy about never supporting it? He had to pay $30 for early access to a free game.

just ignore the clowns, they suck at the game, and has to justify their lack of skill one way or the other.

How am I defending it?
I'm saying that my experience is completely different from yours.
You constantly project your own thoughts and experience onto others on these forums.
Take a break man.

Are you trolling?
The "game" has been out for 11 years. I'm not even talking about how this is POE 1.1 instead of POE 2.
I'm talking about the developer which is where the support badges come from.
I used to support GGG all the way because I enjoyed the game. Right up to the point where endgame hit which has always been their weakest point in their games.
POE 2 is no exception.
SO, saying that it's impossible to have supported "the game" is kind of funny.
