Trial of suck my ass is so RNG...there is no skill involved period. Meant to be hard...bullshit!!

So, I've run Trial of Suck My Ass now several times. The RNG on the banes vs the boons is just a joke! So one sided it's a matter of luck not skill.

The biggest pain is the movement speed and reduced scared water banes. Either you are lucky to get the 45% movement speed boon and have 35% on your boots plus a skill to move quicker, shield charge or blink. Any negative boon such a -25% movement speed.

Then, a perfect run gets you to the boss.

This is also with over 75% honor resistance relics with % increased honor. Oh and RNG on banes related to honor are such a skillful mechanic.

My last run I had 11 banes vs 3 boons

Banes:
- rapid quicksand
- leaking waterskin
- hungry fangs
- suspected sym---bla, bla
- Black smoke
- Winter drought
- spiked exit
- costly aid
- weakened flesh (25% max honour)
- worn sandals (-25% movement speed)
- traditions demand

Boons:
- Flight Mask
- Adrenaline Vial
- Orbala statuette (+25% more max honour)

So Jonathan & Mark where is the skill in the above. Getting through the rooms etc requires a good build, check, and movement skill, check. But the shit above is bullshit RNG. Why, why, why....

My last run I got the -25 movement speed 2 doors before the boss. You can imagine how much it was when I knew my boss fight was going to dog shit. Plus, a mistake on my end, I entered with 1300 honour...so the fight was over before is even started.

I'm all for a challenge, but RNG shit is not a challenge. Make the rooms more challenging but this RNG shit needs to go. Not fun and I'm not the 1st person to give this feedback.

Yes, this game truly does not respect your time. I'm slowly getting the feeling they wanted this game to fail.

All the hype about end game, end game, end game...end game is:

- run 10 t1 maps, 10 t2 maps, etc, etc, and if you have moved and brian drained yourself with maps your will find a citadel.

I have 3 suck my ass coins and will try again but once the RNG challenge is over, this game will see me once it releases. I will leave the POE1 players to transform it to POE1 with better graphics.

When have a choice over between a bad or really bad boon, what would you choose?

Oh and you know what is coming right? You exactly what boons and banes your are going to get, right.

100% this.
It shows that people doesn't understand how to plan a head and deal with it. I usually get maybe 2-3 worthless afflictions and the only boon that I "need" (hare foot, which is not needed, just makes it easier).
As long as you have 1000 honour when going up against the last boss you're golden, he doesn't do a lot of honour damage.
Imagine having an ascendancy trial... that is the same for everyone regardless of their ascendancy they are being "tested" on.

Lazy development.

Imagine adding RNG to make it harder for .. no reason at all.

And making it a one "death" fail.

Along with having people actually have to get through it in a way that GOES AGAINST THEIR CLASS (I.E. Titan/Warbringer having to AVOID DAMAGE instead of tanking it)

Couple that with exp penalties in a PVE game and I have to wonder how long it will be before Ten Cent steps in and takes over.

I run it and every single run I end up with 10-15 boons and like 5 afflictions. Never the other way around, I'm confused as to how people manage to do this bad, you must path to the afflictions early and brick your run or something, it never gets this bad for me.

I take 50% reduced sacred water on purpose if the alternative is bad and still get a minimum of 10 boons

A lot of afflictions mean nothing at all, gain a minor afflictions when you venerate a shrine, just don't use the shrines. There's one free affliction that means nothing, enemies remove 5% of everything on hit, again a free affliction, reduced honor restored is a free affliction, whatever defense you have be it Armour evasion or es take the one that removes what you don't use another free affliction, every single deals physical damage at end of room are free affliction, traps are faster is literally a skill dependent affliction
Black smoke is a free affliction, and the one that removes rewards isn't bad either because you can still avoid afflictions.
Cannot restore honor until after the boss is free, lose all sacred water on floor completion makes the run no harder either. 50% reduced honor restored doesn't matter.

That's 12 different afflictions that mean nothing.they don't make the run harder if you have max resists, I'd also add increased merchant prices and reduced merchant choices post 3rd floor boss because it doesn't matter by the fourth floor.

Then there's boons that literally negate the affect of some afflictions like see one less room ahead you can buy a boon that let's you see one more room ahead and it effectively removes the penalty.

You can also check shrines that offer a boon and an affliction and not even use them if you don't like the three choices. One of those choices being remove 3 afflictions if you're lucky.
