The Amount of Time "Vacationing" is Actually Absurd

And guess who has played by far the most PoE2 out of anyone. This is the exact problem with the vocal minority and reddit. They create this echo chamber and false pretense that Alkaizer is a massive outlier and nobody else enjoys the game the way he does (swap Alkaizer with any x visible enjoyer of PoE2).

It's just not true people. I am here eating pizza and not playing because my computer doesn't run the game that well. But even through 30fps I've loved almost every moment of the core experience. There is so much to improve, but everyone asking for PoE1 with updated graphics, I hope so badly they don't give in to that and stick to their core idea. It happened with PoE1, it was supposed to be a much different game but GGG pandered to the speedclear, linear progression, deterministic crafting portion of the playerbase. They have the ability to stand on their own to feet and not give in so easily anymore.

and this is the exact problem with the "vocal majority" which i really don't think you are. you lump every complaint into one category of "make game poe1" when no one is asking for that. you are as big of a problem as anything, with your blind swinging of your sword defending the game from anything and everything. understand there's nuance to most things, and most people speaking aren't just braindead apes. it's pretty easy to distinguish one from the other, if you yourself aren't a braindead ape.

People on the forums keep trying to tell me what I am saying. I have given plenty of feedback on the forums. People are cherry picking where I disagree with people.

You are ignoring the part where I said there is so much to improve. Much of which I have detailed and discussed on the forums.

I do not at all lump every complaint into one category, only the ones that belong in the whining instead of giving actual feedback category.

Nice try?

You know what would have alleviated all of this? A small little thing called a roadmap. At least people would know what to look forward to after the holidays - but GGG seemingly has no intention of releasing a roadmap.

If they gave you a road map you would be throwing a fit every time they diverged from it at all, just like people are throwing a fit for not having a patch for 1 week.

GGG is in NZ, its summer. People need to admit they should have pushed the release until after the holidays. It also takes 1 person maybe an hour out of their day to give some sort of update.

Er, that would be illegal. New Zealand has a mandatory state holiday:

Christmas (Māori: Kirihimete[1]) became widely celebrated by Christians in the late 19th century. Today, Christmas Day and Boxing Day are both statutory holidays in New Zealand, and Christmas is celebrated by both Christians and non-Christians. While Boxing Day is a standard statutory holiday, Christmas Day is one of the few days of the year where all but the most essential businesses and services must close.[2]

I have to also tell you that, being a Colonial enterprise firmly from Caucasian Christian countries, New Zealand and Australia very much do celebrate Christmas at Christmas time, and very much would think you're either trolling or a Martian for suggesting otherwise.

Take a xanax and a week off.

christmas vacation hasn't meant 'also through new years and a week after' since i was 17
Ask yourself: If this were Blizzard, how would you feel?
This is normal, you can read through steam charts for poe1 and forum posts throughout the years if you need to.

PoE2 needs to simmer before they taste the sauce; chill out. Almost all of your complaints will be addressed, but on their time, not yours. The world does not revolve around you.

Further, are you really lambasting a company for working their employees really hard then giving them weeks off for mandated vacation at the end of the year? GGG has earned their break. The game will still be here in a few weeks. There's lots of good titles to enjoy, take a break, come back later.

This is a cyclical game - if you don't like it, move on for some time and come back. That's how it works. There's multiple leagues I've turned my nose up to and come back on the next league launch.

Thankfully GGG actually respects their employees and treats them like people not tools, which is how we end up with the quality we do.

maybe phrase yourself better then. that's a pretty firm generalization on your part. nice try copping your way out?

This is not a generalization, it is an observation. I am referencing an incredibly common take on the forums and reddit. Has been since EA launched. If you would simply like to make note that you don't have that same opinion, that's fine. I am responding to the sentiment of your posts as a whole.

Eh, I can totally understand this perspective. Honestly I can't say with any confidence exactly how these things should be marketed, I can only say that as a paying customer, I have no issue with my game needing some more time in the oven. There is a reason I have hundreds of dollars in supporter packs for a completely free game, I trust the devs to deliver, which is an incredibly rare thing in this current games industry.

Trusting them does not mean I expect them to get it perfect first try, or never make mistakes, just that eventually the game will continue to improve over time.

Yeah, for sure. To be clear, my attitude towards GGG is generally positive. And I'm very much predisposed to attributing any kind of mismatch between my expectation and reality to miscommunication, rather than an active attempt to mislead.

Even now, although it might be frustrating, it's... fine. It's just a game.

100%, I can totally see that in your responses, that's totally valid. I am just closer to the shill end of the spectrum, because I've been strongly attached to the company for literally my entire adult life.

If they truly do fumble, and it all ends up horrible even a year from now, I will be one of the many letting them know they need to get it together. In the meantime, despite the huge amount of work that needs to be done, and all the issues people are rightly pointing out that don't amount to simply, "game bad", I think in 8 months or less we will have a fantastic start to a legendary ARPG. Sure hope I'm right!
