It is wild that they lined this release up for December, patted themselves on the back, and left for half the month. Balance is crazy off for some classes and abilities, according to a lot of people rarity stacking is killing the economy, and the flavor of the month crowd and the PoE 1 players are at each other's throats on the constant. Whoever decided this was a fantastic time to release it and then just dip until next year is probably getting an earful.

GGG is in NZ, its summer. People need to admit they should have pushed the release until after the holidays.
Friend, winter holidays, summer holidays, it's Christmas time. I was trying to be inclusive. Good point I guess? Do you know what pushing the release two months purely because they wanted to go on a well deserved break would have looked like? Even more insane whining from all the insane whiners.
No it wouldn't have, they would have released a new PoE1 league and everyone would have played it and waited. You are falsifying the nature of the crowd. You pretend it's whining when it's legitimate feedback. Again, yes men will only take GGG in the wrong direction.
We aren't yes men, you are doing the exact thing you are accusing me of doing. The people on reddit and these forums are a very loud vocal minority.
The vast number of people playing and enjoying PoE2, wanted something different from PoE1. The significant portion of PoE players that quit from harvest onwards, or even post-nemesis, whenever you choose to slice it, are back and cheering for the fact that the grungy, hardcore experience GGG diverted away from nearly a decade ago is back.
The people that wanted a PoE1 with better graphics game are understandably upset. That doesn't make everyone else shills.

"How dare you go on winter holidays, you selfish game developers, don't you know we are paying customers! Do you think anyone else in the world goes on vacation when people have given them money???"
This reads like a dystopian satire but it's actually real. Crazy work.
I mean, from a business standpoint, it is weird that you'd close shop for the holidays with an unstable product out there.
It's certainly your right to do that, but it is kind of strange. In my opinion, it would have made much more sense to either wait with the release until after the holiday season, or to just stay and work, and then take time off later.
This is a completely normal reality of business. I've worked through holidays many times, as I'm sure have many others. Many people are quite open to this. Especially if you don't have family. You get paid more, and then you just take the time off some other time.
Yeah. Early Access was a mistake. Gamers are too stupid to understand what it means, and can't handle being allowed to check out an unfinished product.
Just cancel the whole thing, these manchildren literally don't deserve EA.
You know what would have alleviated all of this? A small little thing called a roadmap. At least people would know what to look forward to after the holidays - but GGG seemingly has no intention of releasing a roadmap.

The steam awards finalists were just announced. You should go look at that list of very good video games and choose one that catches your eye and play it for a few weeks
Shouldn't this be removed like other belittling and nonconstructive content? Or will it stick around because it is GGG white knighting? Let's find out
Take a break man it's not worth it. They'll be back in a few days.

Yes and no. This is also a bit of a marketing problem. "Open Beta", given the meaning of "beta version" in the context of software clearly communicates that the product is unfinished, as you say. Early Access, on the other hand, does not. In fact, the entire point of using the term "Early Access" is a deliberate marketing tactic to create the impression of something premium and exclusive.
So it's not really that people don't understand what early access means, it's that the term early access is, really by design, kind of a lie.
It is named so, because that is how steam chooses to label is, and GGG's main storefront, by a massive margin, is steam. Steam doesn't love the idea of people paying for betas. There is quite a lot of restriction on exactly how you can and cannot market a game, or do EA for a game on Steam.

i will respectfully just disagree. i don't think you are the majority. i think the majority want a much much better game than we were offered.

Thinking its an unstable product is feedback though. If they thought it was ready for launch and someone else doesn't feel that way playing it they may want to know that and/or why they think that. Or they may just think Git gud may be the best solution.
Alkaizer predicted this would be a shit storm and that was long before the launch of the game.
He said it was something like(i dont remember exactly his words) 100x harder than poe1 and everybody would cry that its too hard.

thing is it's not too hard, at all. it's just not good. don't misconstrue the two things. i see over and over people defending the game are doing exactly that. 'i quit' becomes 'i suck' and 'it's not good' becomes 'its too hard.'
it's not hard, it's bad.

And guess who has played by far the most PoE2 out of anyone. This is the exact problem with the vocal minority and reddit. They create this echo chamber and false pretense that Alkaizer is a massive outlier and nobody else enjoys the game the way he does (swap Alkaizer with any x visible enjoyer of PoE2).
It's just not true people. I am here eating pizza and not playing because my computer doesn't run the game that well. But even through 30fps I've loved almost every moment of the core experience. There is so much to improve, but everyone asking for PoE1 with updated graphics, I hope so badly they don't give in to that and stick to their core idea. It happened with PoE1, it was supposed to be a much different game but GGG pandered to the speedclear, linear progression, deterministic crafting portion of the playerbase. They have the ability to stand on their own to feet and not give in so easily anymore.
