The Amount of Time "Vacationing" is Actually Absurd
" sure your analogy is hopelessly superficial and multiple people now have used a more accurate version of it to prove why. Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4.
If they wanted mindless mobile game time waster gameplay they sure did make some perplexing choices and marketing statements for 6 fucking years. |

For me it's the fact they said they had 1 million EA sold. They should have really waited to release until after holiday or waited to go on holiday. It's been a month and we got some items added and I believe they hot fixed the duping. We have heard nothing else. They would have received a lot less backlash.

" Actually....what you said was you ordered a $30 steak, and then were told the chefs left and you wouldn't be getting your steak. You got the croutons and water as consolation, entirely unrelated to what you paid $30 for. But in the real world: you paid $30 for an EA PoE 2. What did you receive? An EA PoE 2. You got your entire order. Whether or not its "good" (for you), is irrelevant. Just like if you went to a restaurant, ordered a meal, and the meal wasn't good. You still GOT the meal you paid for. You didn't lose anything. GGG even warned you ahead of time that the game was missing half of its content, was incomplete in terms of balance, and would be receiving radical changes over the course of SIX MONTHS (minimum). It's been 3 weeks. You still bought it knowing all that. You never ever had to. Thinking is certainly a hard task. Starting anew....with PoE 2 Last edited by cowmoo275#3095 on Jan 4, 2025, 3:45:47 PM

" Bravo dude. you're dense and missing the point. it's them fucking off for three weeks. it's sickening how you're glazing for a company like tencent-ggg a 500 billion dollar company lmao. tell me how it's a smart decision to leave for 3 weeks after your biggest launch? lmao. |

" its been done for 34 pages in this thread alone, not to mention many other threads. But heres a few reasons why it was a smart decision: 1) There is no fire in the henhouse: the game is functioning well. The hacking and duping is a recent problem, one that actually DOES need immediate attention (and its getting it). 2) The BEST time to take an extended step back is at the beginning of the launch. They get oodles of data on likes/dislikes, imbalances, etc. across all levels of play. Casual players are only just NOW finishing up the campaign. Updates will start to come faster and faster, as players get faster and faster. 3) It was the holidays. There was ALREADY pto in the books christmas through NY. Happens every single freaking year. Whether there happens to be a new league in December or not. It is no secret that they were likely pulling double duty for weeks between the original november launch date and the actual date to solve surprise issues, and probably approaching burnout. Pushing the workers too hard for too long with no breaks can lead to numerous devastating effects: quitting, loss of enthusiasm, burnout, health effects, etc. This is even true of billion dollar companies because.....humans. Amazon warehouse workers are a prime example of this. Dock workers and truck drivers too. 4) Let time naturally filter out those who have zero interest in the game, or zero interest in the BETTERMENT of the game. Games are not designed for every single gamer. Many will play it because its new, but that does not mean they intend to stick around. It is useless to make changes for that crowd. So give them time to explore, decide, and leave. 5) Rushed updates can lead to massive mistakes. Many problematic PoE 1 leagues were problematic because they were rushed out with minimal thought and planning. More time is ALWAYS, I'll even repeat that, ALWAYS better for quality control. "Dense and missing the point": says the dude who completely missed his own point with his analogy and responses lol. ^forgot a very important reason why it was a good thing to take an extended step back.
6) A hard test on the "time v interest" scale that they will be operating under for the rest of the life of the game. This is crucial to future league planning and scheduling. The data suggests, despite you and others in this thread, that the vast majority are STILL IN THE GAME PlAYING. More time than ever before in the history of PoE 1 and PoE 2. I think it'd even make great business sense to wait LONGER until those numbers dip below 50%, which will give them a rough idea of the CURRENT staying power of the game. Starting anew....with PoE 2
