I just want enemies to NOT fully respawn on death. It's not fun, it's not challenging, its just annoying and boring. If they could at least drop that I would feel way better

and for me it's too much of a penalty. You want it that way, cool, I want an option to NOT have that happen.

Unfortunately this is a love service multiplayer game with a living economy. They won't give ypu a difficulty option and they've been developing all recent leagues in poe to be loss on death, so they likely won't budge on this in poe2, which is better for the economy. They also do this so you have to make a better build and put on some defenses, which slows the game down. Get good
All the gatekeeping is pathetic. Some kind of difficulty setting is the perfect solution.

If you just want to have fun and possibly learn the game, you can choose a lower difficulty league to play in.
And if you want a big challenge, or some sort of achievement badge to show off with, you can choose a higher difficulty league to play in.
And if it's "trade", the economies would be separate.

Such two modes would not be mutually exclusive. Everybody can get what they want.

(Whatever "difficulty" means btw. I'm sure there are plenty of ways to structure "difficulty" that's more than just adjusting HP and DPS. Maybe whatever the opposite of the "Ruthless" checkbox in PoE 1 would be good - "Generous" mode.)

yeah.

honestly i think the devs might also argue they already did give us a difficulty option.

theres tier 1 maps and theres tier 15 maps, more difficulty = more reward. then you can roll those maps, put tablets on them, drop some of your gear stats for rarity...

theres a whole host of ways within the game to make the zone you are in more difficult if you want more difficulty than running a white t1 waystone, and they all come with more rewards.
I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)
