Game needs a difficulty setting
Exactly! The 80 percent of the community that says it's fine... is the 70 percent playing range (stats prove it). lol. Thing is, GGG cant fix it, unless they redesign the game from the ground up. The game is PUNISHES melee. Honor systems is the perfect example. Yes, they dropped it by 35%, but it will ALWAYS overly punish melee classes.

" i honestly dont think its like that. i have a character that has 3 or 4 small to mid layers of defence going on and im partying with 2 people who havent really got 1 solid layer od defence working for them yet and the difference is extreme. in maps i can sit in the middle of packs of mobs getting swarmed and tank them, sometimes needing to tank them on potions for sure but i can hold argo and stand my ground. my friends would get absolutely wiped out in a second trying to be in the fray with me, i need to go through the door first, pull the agro and tank it so they can blast from range. im not even melee im playing a witch, the defences are there on the tree % wise but you need to feed them the right flat values from your gear which makes gearing for defence very important compared to poe1 where you could grab a little defence on the tree, you mostly got it from hybrid life nodes and then you just ran a defence aura or 2. this is not that game. i would kill for an extra 3k flat evasion or armour on my gear right now. it would be a significant boost. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

If you die for a specific mob that mob will not be there again. eg: that rare with X mods will not be there, you cannot even revenge yourself -_- 2. you could die for different reasons. eg: maybe a wrong turn (mini map show you can cross but you cant) and you end up locked by mobs in one place. 3. level area bosses (world bosses) are not reset when the game auto reset the instance area after death. 4. mini map don't reset. If a player want to farm the zone again he can full reset the instance (area boss included + mini map), in the Instance Manager (hold CTRL + click on the instance icon). Bosses exist for a reason, they are the ones that gonna do the check if you are strong enough to continue. And if you are not, guess what you do? You reset the instance that you want to farm and try to get better so you can defeat the boss and continue you journey. |

for me this is one of the best parts of the game. i want there to be a penalty for death in order to make it more engaging.
