The guy was extremely harsh. Not just a "little."
If he doesn't come back every 3 months it'd be a boon not an affliction.
Anyway, being sincere, it's way too early to tell. We are at 0.1e of the game. This is the most barebones version of PoE that you're going to get.
Who knows how streamlined they're going to make it.
I do not like that I can blitz through campaign in 7 hours and then just play market simulator in PoE1. I like the challenge and progression of the campaign.
Some areas could be scaled down to help with streamlining, sure, but it's nothing crazy or wildly outlandish.
Basing "Will they return for seasonal league content" off of the most stripped barebones feature-lacking version of the game (because we are in very early stages of beta) is a really disingenuous question in its' concept and frankly an impossible question to answer at this current stage.
Maybe let's revisit that when we're closer to launch. yeah?
Lmao. Look at the title of the thread you're in. Look at the posts of the people you're defending. There's multiple vitriolic walls of text each day dissuading GGG from taking the feedback of vets at heart. All from people who are hardstuck in normal difficulty, leveraging criticism at the feedback of people who are farming t15+ content. Two different worlds, and yet their understanding is so lacking that they think they have something valuable to say. And I'm the one who's being harsh.
They will not return. They have taken WEEKS to get through 2-3 acts. A very small percentage of them will be retained; The rest are just bandwagoners who will say "I finished the story, I beat the game" and never boot it up again. The more honest of them will admit it openly even right now, I've seen some that have.
But us? Our loyalty has been tested and proven. I've been criticising GGG since frickin 2017. And I'm still here and still buying, because they made a damn good game.
Love the games. PoE1 way more so than PoE2, but still enjoying both.
Hate the company. The scummy, lying, fake and shitty facade, the excuses, the failures, and most of all, the "Vision".
Keep both of those in mind when reading my posts. Last edited by PrimordialDarkness#3913 on Dec 21, 2024, 10:05:38 PM

Brother you're not getting it.
It's not what you're saying. It's how you're saying it.
People are struggling and complaining about it, sure. It's fairly obvious that the boss difficulty isn't going to be changed. There's no reason for any type of flame wars to be going down in the comments, much less referring to people as 'worthless leeches'.
I think the broader arpg community could actually make PoE2 a fucking phenomenal game with a phenomenal community assuming we don't scare them off.
Before PoE I was a D2 Head. I was a D3 head too. Then I found PoE and fell in love with it. But I was at one point, a part of the *broader community.*

I am getting it. I just don't agree. They spew their vitriol but can't handle it back. I am not obligated to be kind to them.
Again, look at the thread name and their posts.
Our difference is you think they will be retained if we're nicer. They won't.

Very high skilled PoE1 player here.
I got into PoE2 because I got tired of how easy PoE1 was.
The hardest part about PoE1 was lag in 1000+ mob density.
I am very glad that they are moving further away from PoE1 in PoE2.
They're the same game.

Movement speed was partially replaced with stuns and i-frames. It's easier to craft endgame items now. Exception being no rerolls. Not so much with early game...I felt that...way too much.

yes, i'd love that. normal mode. hard. easy. something for everyone. casual players who don't play much or have a lot of life responsibilities and just want to beat the campaign and explore the end game could do so... zoomers can reach maps in record time. people like me who want a challenging campaign w long boss battles could have something that appeals to us as well.

Agreed with original poster thread. I aslo get an impression most vitriolic posts are from POE 1 veterans, who want to have a 1 shot clear screen experience. Which is fine i guess, we all like different things, but to me its boring and i think POE2 gathered so much more players then POE1 exactly becasue its different from POE1, with more challenging and skill req. combat.
And i would love to see difficulty options, with some being harder then waht the game is now. It would imho solve so much problems. We are playing with a friend right now, 2 warriors, and its ok, but i wouldnt mind the game being a bit more difficult, specially for the mobs.

I love the idea of 3 difficulties. Otherwise, at least half of the community will be always disappointed and different parts of community will fight each other all the time. But this way, everyone could be happy! Well, potentially.
