The Palpable and Uninformed Hate and Dismissal of POE1 Veterans Sounding the Alarm is Worrying
" You are high or something? What do you think funded POE2? The tooth fairy? No, it was the player base from POE1. And furthermore if you look at the player charts it has been amazing. But since you in your little friend circle couldn't handle it you say no one played it? That's just ... weird. Wanna know a secret? If you can handle this game you will LOVE POE1. LOL |

"It's not the sequel to D2, GGG does not own the Diablo franchise. Path of Exile 2 is the game following the original Path of Exile. You can tell this by the fact that it is taking place in the same world, using the same name, with references and characters from the original. Last edited by Xinoz#1690 on Dec 20, 2024, 3:41:20 PM

" On a scale of 0 to objective reality, I score you about a -7. Millions of distinct people played PoE1, and it was WILDLY successful to the degree of driving 3 guys making a fun project to a AAA gaming studio. No, Poe2 is not the spiritual successor to diablo 2. That was GGG's intention when they started writing PoE. Which you would know if you spent 2 seconds taking a look at reality instead of forum troll fantasy land. PoE2 is absolutely the sequel to PoE1, and it is intended to stand alongside it as a similar yet distinct title. Anyway, very done with you. Thanks for being perfectly exemplary of what the thread is concerned with. |

There are courses in C++.
Go make the game you want. PoE is great. PoE2 is great. Take your pick. But to think the company was going to invest to make 20k players happy is crazy. They going bigger. |

" Yes I played D2 when it launched as a kid. The reason why this feels more like D2 then any other game is due to atmosphere and difficulty. When D2 first came out we didn't have youtube, streamers, as many build guides. We went in blind. And D2 was the first arpg i played as a kid. And it was difficult for me. POE2 hard hitting punishing difficulty reminds me of that. You're blind to see. The devs originally wanted to make poe1 slow paced and punishing like D2 until the vision was lost in end game and the constant zoom zoom spam one skill of end game. You sound entitled. In fact you are entitled. You want everything handed to you without putting in the effort to overcome a challenge. You want to follow a build guide you barely understand, have you ascendancy points handed to you with little effort being put in to improve yourself or the way you play the game. You want 6 portals so you can spam click your glass canon build and your deaths to be meaningless. You are the vocal minority. The other 400k + opf us are enjoying the game. The game is not dying and it will be more succesful then poe1 if the devs stand their ground. | |
100% agree
Also the fact that they have used the money people spent because they liked POE 1 to developed POE 2 in the way that they did knowing POE 1 players are "Not the intended audience" is a major Fuck You to their core playerbase. Going forward I can't really see the point in supporting GGG by spending money on POE 1 since it will be going to develop a game I don't enjoy instead of the one I want to support. |

" No idea what me programming has to do with THIS game. Making a game is much more than programming. A lot more. At any rate, yes I can write C++ and very few game devs do these days. However, were I running the studio I would listen to the players that gave me thousands of dollars and thousands of hours on my old game when making an obvious successor to POE. All you have done in this is to prove my original point about all emotion, no content and bump my thread ... thanks. |

How many threads are you gonna make in a single day?

" No, we just want a fun arpg. Hence all the detailed feedback we've given. Also you can say goodbye to those 400k players on steam pretty soon if some changes aren't made, the average is 327k and it's been dropping more and more. |
