Why does the "fanbase" of this game refuse to let other people have fun with it???

I keep hearing people tell me "this game is not for you, leave!!!"

This is the STUPIDEST thing anyone can say if they want their game to survive for a long time...

You could have stopped there :D Yeah, they're litteraly actively trying to kill the game they pretend to love. Based on the general level of these interactions, my conclusion is we are actually dealing with stupid people. Now I just roll my eyes and move on, or laugh and post a reply when there's a special specimen :p

The thing is though that if you don't actively show these delusional, tone-deaf devs that these screaming lunatics are NOT a viable player base to build their game around we will never have a PoE2 we can enjoy and honestly it would be a shame cause this game has a ton of potential if only GGG take their heads out of their asses and realize that the "Asmongolds" of this world are NOT a good market demographic to target...

I mean Kripparrian, probably the most hardcore, elite MF-er playing ARPGs out there made a whole video about this game being too Ruthless FOR HIM!!!

When these lunatics that scream "don't make it easy" hit endgame all their hopes and dreams will shatter in an instant... they have NO IDEA what kind of a wake up call they're in for...

If Kripp can't get to at least level 85 easily then normal players are SCREWED!!!

Now notice you cannot have an economy with 2 game modes

Of course you can! POE1 already has different economies for HC, Standard and Ruthless each league.

Dude, PoE1 used to have less than 50k concurrent players for years and years and the economy was working fine... PoE1 didn't get over 100k players until 6-7 years after it's original release when it became MORE ACCESSIBLE (which is the whole point here)

These [Removed by Support] people are trolling...

I mean if you make two difficulty modes you could EASILY have at least 250k concurrent players on standard mode for years and about 40-50k masochists on Ruthless mode...

They're trolling HARD!!!

Funny thing about Kripp was him talking to Ziz about struggling then going

"U gambling? U checking the vendors?"

I've seen this said to me so many times and its driven me up the wall because YES I DO!

I DON'T GET SQUAT.

People think gamba and vendoring is acceptable because they won the lotto and assume this is the default experience.
One cannot help but wonder how such a lust for loot can affect a persons mind. Although these exiles appear to be our salvation, it would not take much for them to turn on us as easily as they fight gods and demons.

What are you even smoking?

PoE1 never ever became more accessible. Its mechanics are still extra bizarre and lots of things are extremely strangely shaped and/or overdesigned.

What PoE1 did, is - it became easier. Streamers eventually popularized the whole "play by following a guide" shtick and it allowed many players to actually feel powerful without even interacting with all the weird and bizarre PoE mechanics.

PoE2 starts a lot more accessible just by design - they cut out plenty of needlessly complicated things from PoE1 (not all of them). And it shows (in player numbers).

Yeah, okay, you can't even watch videos, got it.
Kripp zoomed through PoE2 incredibly fast.

His video is all about "oh muh common players will not find it enjoyable" (like Kripp even has a slightest idea about common players). It's not about HIM.

Why would anyone read this wall of text? You want a game that caters to a maximally broad audience? Play D4 or whatever. Why are you flooding the forum of one of the very few games that does not try to cater to this kind of audience? This game is probably not for you and this is fine.

I don't wear/like latex costumes, but at the same time I am not writing complains to manufacturers of latex clothing suggesting to use cotton instead so that I like it.

Player numbers are good because of marketing and hype.

I can tell you: it'll fall pretty hard no matter what.

If GGG would be fast with releasing more content (I honestly doubt it) it'll fall slightly more gently, if not - it'll fall very hard.

What we have is half a game of a game, it won't keep players attracted for too long. We'll have to wait until release to see the actual attraction and retention. But for now it's already quite fine that lots of players were interested in the first place.

Part of my worry is I suspect a lot of people are treating this as the new big thing to play for easy views and maybe some will even genuinley enjoy it. However I don't see a lot sticking around for full release or even future content.

The endgame already has 16 tiers of difficulty, how many more do you need?
