Why does the "fanbase" of this game refuse to let other people have fun with it???

Yea. Start picking things up.

I'm honestly convinced you are either trolling or your criteria for good loot is vastly different from mine.

If you want poe 1 style loot drops...go play poe 1. Its literally still open for play. GGG made it clear they want a different game for a different fan base. if you are not that kind of fan base. Go away and play poe 1.

What kind of loot do you think I'm talking about? An item with resists and life? A currency orb or two. Thats literally all im asking for. If you think I'm not picking it up, I've portalled out of maps and in acts multiple times to haul stuff back to salvage.

If you think this is acceptable, you are high af and need to be in a ruthless mode where this level of loot is your norm.[/quote]

you must be unlucky cause im finding at least 3-4 exalts in a session of playing 3-4 hours. Im also finding good currency and items to ether sell for gold, salvage, or trade. Perhaps, you just don't know what you are looking for?
Because the difficulty isn't the issue for most people. It's tedious and slow. Lowering the difficulty won't make it less of a slog. Some interesting loot, crafting and movement speed or skills on the other hand...
My guess is that they don't want to fracture the playerbase more.

The player base already gets split somewhat by there being seasonal leagues and standard. If they then add difficulty levels on top of that, each of those levels have to be their own seasonal leagues (and probably standard leagues).

This is the most likely reason I can see for why the game is set up this way. It wouldn't be a good idea to fracture the player base like this, and you can't just put them all into the same pool because easier mode means easier time getting rare items, etc.

So basically an easy mode league?

A league with... lets say +100% more HP/ES and +100% more dmg?
But also no honor in sekhema, no debuffs in chaos trials.
Free respec, start with 5 socket skills, get a chest with 20 lvl 3 support gems.

That what you want?

I dont know man... Not to repeat others, but maybe PoE2 just isn't the game for you.

It's amazing how everyone twists and turns the truth and does a fuckton of mental gymnastics because you all REFUSE to accept that if people don't find the game fun then you'll be alone playing and there won't be a playerbase to play the game... cause 10k masochists that enjoy a game whipping them every time they make a wrong move and they keep asking for more whipping is NOT a viable player base for a free to play game...

GROW UP... learn to accept that there are other people in the world!!!

That's what im talking about, sometimes u just get screwed in the rng department.
Quin was on act 3 guardian of the core boss with resists capped.

My last two characters got to 41 mostly res capped and had multiple support level 2's and level 11 skill gems.

My first character? She was level 45, 4 levels higher than my latter two characters with 11% resists across the board and no level 11 gems.

She was cold based and no access to comet which meant while clear was okay, bossing was down in the toilet.

How is it my latter two charcters were in a much better position compared to my first 4 levels lower?
One cannot help but wonder how such a lust for loot can affect a persons mind. Although these exiles appear to be our salvation, it would not take much for them to turn on us as easily as they fight gods and demons.

I'm going to assume devs are smarter than the majority of players and can conceive of making difficulty levels that can be played without being able to be abused by transferring a character to a higher difficulty level, ive already got more than a few ideas myself that are simple enough to implement lower the max number of affixes per difficulty level, reduce the max rolls of said affixes per difficulty level etc etc etc this means achievements per difficulty level have to be earned at that difficulty level. Guess i should stop there since technically i have plans on being a 'competitor' to GGG (and yes lofty delusional goas maybe lol) but theres a whole lot of ways to develop difficulty without ruining the plans of actual elite players who truly have the skills to hit the top of leaderboards at higher difficulties.

Oh they can conceive the idea alright... they're just stuck up elitists that they want to force the gamers to enjoy their fucked up view of a good game by telling them "we refuse to give you another option"

Which means these devs are DELUSIONAL... they're the exact same as all the big Hollywood studios making movies that alienate the fanbase of the franchises and then telling the fans it's "their fault" for not liking those godawful sequels because they're not "open minded" enough to accept the "brilliance" of Rings of Power or "The Acolyte" or whatever other bullshit they make...

Sorry, but when you try to force someone to spend his time on something that is CRINGE-WORTHY levels of tedious and unenjoyable then the fans will just flip you off and go on their merry way to play something fun...

This seems a great idea if GGG can pull it off.

Clearly there are 2 sets of players. Give them 2 options. Normal and Difficult.

People who have fun with slow progression and speed, want to invest 10+ hours or more, like mechanical game play, want to fight bosses repeatedly, learn and excel, feel the excitement/rush after fighting n number of times either a boss or sanctum or ultimatum and finally overcoming the challenge can play Difficulty Level.

People who want faster progression and speed, have lesser time to invest, want to play several classes/characters/builds, kill and loot, try to farm currency fast and make a super dps build and then play with it can have Normal Difficulty.

Why should one fanbase not allow the other to have the option of a game they want to play?

Exactly... it's absolutely RIDICULOUS to me that people want only one difficulty level and they want ONLY the one that suits them!!!

I mean the entitlement is absolutely insane... how fucking entitled do you need to be to DEMAND that the game caters ONLY to you and people that think EXACTLY like you...

People need to grow the fuck up... all of them... acting like toddlers instead of actually sitting down and deciding that we need a player base of AT LEAST 250-350k concurrent players to make this game work in the long run...

And btw, PoE's economy has worked with 20-30k players just fine... so people need to cut the crap about "the economy would be broken if we add a second difficulty"... well, maybe the Ruthless economy would be broken which is what they are afraid of cause 90% of the playerbase would go to the casual fun mode...

Anyway... the entitlement is NUTS!!!

Well, Souls game might be popular with a very niche crowd
What? Elden Ring is one of the most popular games ever.

Which 2-3 years after it's release has 30-40k players playing daily... it's NOT a live service game...

People will NOT play a souls game over and over and over... Souls games make a lot of sales but they're a ONE TIME PLAYTHROUGH for 90% of the people buying them...

This and a looter ARPG are not even close to the same genre...

Plus Elden Ring is the ONLY non-niche game of Souls genre and I own it and personally don't find it fun at all for a second playthrough... it's tedious af just like all souls games...

I also own Nioh and didn't even bother playing more than 5 hours for example cause it was tedious for me to be constantly sweating to progress...

Anyway... there is ZERO reason for PoE to be a Souls Game and Souls-like Ruthless mode being the ONLY mode... it's a HORRIBLE design

Why does PoE1 fanbase refuse to let us have fun with this game?

So 250k players existing in a different mode than yours and having fun with the game while also FUNDING the game for you[Removed by Support] to have fun with it is "not letting you have fun"???

I keep hearing people tell me "this game is not for you, leave!!!"

This is the STUPIDEST thing anyone can say if they want their game to survive for a long time...

You could have stopped there :D Yeah, they're litteraly actively trying to kill the game they pretend to love. Based on the general level of these interactions, my conclusion is we are actually dealing with stupid people. Now I just roll my eyes and move on, or laugh and post a reply when there's a special specimen :p
