Why does the "fanbase" of this game refuse to let other people have fun with it???

"

Well, then they better get used to having 5k players playing the game

Guys I think OP is onto something. Get ready for 5000 people playing

So... can PoE2 survive this?

Yes.

Not to be too facetious, but the agita over the current forum/reddit freakout is just way too overblown. Half a million people are playing the game, and having fun with the game, right now. If it's not for you, then it's not for you, and that's OK. It's not any kind of existential crisis for PoE2, or for GGG. Both will be fine.

As will PoE1, BTW. The other game is going to get more content, starting with a new league in the new year. GGG aren't killing it; they made PoE2 a different and separate game for a reason, and you now have hand-on experience with that reason.

Are some things a little over-tuned, or over-tightened? Yes, of course, But they've still got half the game to add, and lots time to make necsessary adjustments. Just don't be expecting a massive pace and difficulty shift in a 3.x PoE1 direction to be the shape of that adjustment.
Stay sane, exiles!

It's hilarious how you use WEEK 1 STATS to back your claims where 95% of the playerbase isn't even at Cruel Acts, let alone the disgustingly punishing endgame...

People will quit when they realize they're being treated like crap on purpose... but whatever... keep being ignorant and screaming "don't make an easier mode!!! Never!!!! Throw all the trash players out!!!" like absolute lunatics...

GGG can have a game with 10k players that enjoy being whipped or a game with 2 million players that enjoy different experiences... THAT is the truth!!!

Forcing someone to "git gud" at something that isn't worth the effort NEVER ends well!!!

A lot of the selling points of this game, things that the devs told us, become nonsense because of the difficulty of the game.

They talk about fun combos and interesting builds, except, if only 3 builds can complete content then there are only going to be three builds.

Got a fun 3 skill combo? Too bad unless the 3rd skill is run/dodge.

Want to use a non-standard weapon for your class, you can, but you'll never complete act 1.

Want all your ascendency points? Can't play melee unless you over-level the content.

It's just not sustainable. People who spend money on cosmetics won't play this game.

Guys 5k players look out its coming get ready.

Economic rupture? This is Early Access, its pre-release. I'm PRETTY sure they've already stated everything was going to get wiped and reset pre-release anyway.

So tell me what's "bad" about your speculated economic rupture? People have more gear to test?

GGG has MORE information to balance the game against?

More people than the gate keeping hardcore crowd are able to have fun with the game?

Yep... ding ding ding... we have a winner!!!

That's a very very obvious observation because the big money spenders are mostly casual players that play for fun and especially in free to play games they decide to spend some money to look cool while playing it since it's their hobby after work mostly...

For example, Valorant skins are STUPIDLY EXPENSIVE... well, almost every player has skins... why? Cause they're having fun in the game and wanna look cool doing it...

If GGG caters only to the no-lifers or the people that get excited by the game punishing them over and over then the game will lose the majority of the playerbase...

That's the difference between being Prada and being Nike... Prada is for the super elite and it's a "git rich" company... while Nike is a company that sells cool stuff to everyone... and well, EVERYONE (even the super rich) wear Nike!!! Why? Cause they know what they're fucking doing business-wise!!! Cause in terms of sales and size of the franchise Nike is about 100 times bigger than Prada!!!

I would like to point out that current early number of players is not a measure of how 'GREAT' this game is or would be. Time will tell.

POE has worked very hard over more than a decade to build a certain brand associated with very unique, innovative and engaging aspects in a game which is POE 1. This unique, innovative and engaging game has provided a lot of challenge, excitement, fun over the years to its community and created an image/excitement about POE 2.

This brand more than anything else is a major driver of the early numbers in addition to a lengthy strong marketing campaign and frankly pathetic performance from D4.

So, saying the early numbers prove that POE 2 offering is a success is just misleading.

We will only come to know in some months' time or maybe even after few months in full release what is the true picture.

Me and my friends had hope. But the one shot mechanics, never being able to get gear your level to help with defense, and the fact that most seem to think loot is balanced has caused us to leave. POE1 had all those on death explosions , meteor offscreen from above one shot cheese mechanics too. We Had hope that poe2 would be a new game but alas
It's just POE1 Ruthless with new graphics and even less loot. If they gave us enough orbs to waist on those 99% drop rate whites we Might could gear to level or close..
They need servers for casuals who actually work for a living and who can't spend 120hrs a week to find one slot upgrade. And take One shot mechanics out of the game.i don't mind mind nor my friends mind having to redo a boss 10 or 20 times to learn mechanics thus use less health potions and finally beat it but when you lose cause your dps was to low and they don't and refuse to give you the tools for success it's a never ending saga of ripping your teeth out with toothpicks..
My man here crying about game survival when PoE is prbly one of the best "surviving" games of today.
