What we need are more support gems, what we DO NOT need is unrestricted support gems, because then every skill will have some mix the following 4 links: Inc damage, Inc speed, Inc crit and/or crit dam, Inc ailment, Inc area, Leech, Trigger gem. That is boring. I'm only still on 3 links finally hitting maps and am doing quite nicely for myself, using every single hotkey, and taking great advantage of the cooldown for damage gems and base cooldown skills like Hammer of the Gods. The current system is amazing because it force real consideration and thought to be put into our builds. This was one of the things that bored and annoye dme about PoE1 is that its speed full screen insta-clear power creep meant I always needed increased speed and all the increased damage or projectiles and etc I could find. Not very interesting.
I've never consistently used more than 2, MAYBE 3 skills in PoE1 other than auras and such. I use every skill on my hotbar now. Feels Goodman™ |

Jesus christ, you guys are funny, keep saying they shouldnt change PoE 2 and keep the "vision" and then ask to change the most impactful thing PoE 2 brought to actually make you use more skills, if they removed the limit everyone would run the same op combinations in every skill instantly, same as in PoE 1 (wich is still a better game btw), if they remove that limitation it´s one more layer of depth out of the window and in no time we are all playing D4.
So no, the 1 support limit is good, you have ascendacies and uniques that let you bypass this, and more will be added with time for sure, so keep it. IGN - Slayonara

no idea what "vision" you're talking about. Poe2 is the sequel to POE1 and they've removed one of the aspects that made it a great game, now it just feels like another diablo 4 where all builds feel the same. most people will gravitate towards the meta and not be bothered trying to come up with something original. For those people trying to get creative with their builds this limits their ability to do so. It seems this game in its current state is trying desperately to become diablo 4

Limits like this are just anti-fun game design for no reason. It adds nothing positive to the game, just delete it and let people play whatever kind of build they wanna play. If this game has near-0 build diversity it might aswell not be called PoE. |

Exactly. this isnt about balancing, its about fun. you can still balance the game around having multiple supports attached with just a few tweaks. either way, people are still going to find the meta and gravitate towards it. The limit isnt preventing that

" You can blame dozens of things for the lack of diversity, like not having many skills or support gems yet, the passive tree made in a way that crayon eaters cannot mess up too much, etc, but if theres one thing you cannot blame for that is the support gem limit, it´s exactly the opposite, the moment the limits on that would get lifted every character doing elemental attacks would have elemental damage with attacks support in every single skill and so on, with this method you actually plan how you wanna use the skills and where the supports fit better for what you wanna do, im 100% with GGG on this one.
