To much loot after the recent patch. EDITED: Updated with streamer video on this topic.

It really doesn't feel like too much to me but I just hit cruel so idk.

It isn't, the people complaining its too much just want the game to be a slow, grindy, annoying slog. Basically Ruthless 2.0
Drops was fine before
+1

Loot was good pre update.
There is no complexity to farming that makes it difficult. It is just clearing maps or finding a gold chest and esc, respawn to farm that chest. Then, if rng blesses you, just a couple runs.

Because of guys like you I will always have an easy time to farm and trade, because you think you don't have much control in getting loot and it's just RNG.

> In the beginning of the game there should be zero reason to have to farm to progress.

You can do that if you are good at the game. Then you can rush and upgrade items at the same time without ever stopping. Those that complain are not good at the game yet. If you are not good at the game and try to rush it will not be enjoyable.

Choices to make. Imagine that. Devs called it adjusting the difficulty.

> If rng doesn't bless you? Well you just wasted hours of your time with zero progression.

Can't relate. At no point did I feel like I am not progressing as you say. I am always getting better gear and loot. Getting a weapon with flat is not hard either, and once you get it, it lasts you a long time.

> not present you with a wall you have to farm to get past

That's kinda how Diablo2 was. You need to farm a bit and then you can rush past a lot of the content. Those that liked Diablo2 will also like POE2. POE2 is an even better game. You can rush almost all the time if you are good, if you are as good as the streamers that compete for ladder. Otherwise, a balance is natural and expected.

I like the buff to currency drops so far at least. Not sure how it would effect the economy long run tho.

As for rares, I'm swimming in them now so would prefer the pre-patch drop rates there.

yup, i'm not sure what was the logic behind correcting both at the same time. they should've bumped orbs and leave loot alone

Yeah i kind of agree with this.

But think you kind of over did it. The content is way to easy because of it.
I agree. Before the loot drops were perfect and you got enough resources to fully stack up yellow gear by the beginning of act 2 just with crafting/gambling at the vendor. Since I'm swimming in gear now, drops don't feel impactful anymore because they are not significant enough upgrades, and I am bulldozing through the content with ease.

Drops should be nerfed. Keep the currency drops and nerf item drops. When both are high, it just makes everything easy. And easy in a methodical game like this transforms it into slow and boring.

I share the same opinion that loot scarcity is good.

PoE1 started super hard with loot scarcity and now its the way it is because people have skill issues and complain on the forums.

Lets hope GGG doesnt listen to the very same people again.

"""skill issue""" =/= bad game design

This game will have about the same amount of players as Ruthless does in PoE 1 if the devs don't listen. And they don't want that, they want to make profit from this game. It's that simple.

The game is balanced around the loot drops being a certain way. That's why a "ruthless" mode is a failure: you're gimping yourself against content that's balanced assuming you'll have better loot. So comparing POE2 to Ruthless is intellectually dishonest.

The game assumes that you'll have to roll out of the way of things and have good defense stats: it's baked into its DNA. Give too much loot and power and all the sudden it's just a bad game that doesn't know what it is.

Problem is whiners don't want to have to roll: they want to stand still and melt screens. They don't want to play the game.

I felt before they where to low early game , especial when playing solo , but got a bit better into crule ( about ok ish ) . I feel they are way to high now . A big over shoot . I got more gear and currency in 4 hours than i did in the previous 30 . Now im im running by blues constantly if their not the correct base type and only looking for max Tier stat on blue before rare crafting . Before i was forced to use all my curency on upgrades , now i can save all of it for BIS crafting attempts .

Edit : mabey keep drop rates low on mobs as before , and just keep the buff for bosses and rares .
Just a sec let me grab a beer...@#*@ Ok how did I die this time

Learn the rules, it's the only way to exploit them.

ok cool, so some people on reddit cried that this game is too hard and now it's being brought inline with PoE1...

Awesome, in 6 months it's going to be just like PoE 1 here as well

Some people are saying they don't like the roll. Most "whiners" are saying we don't like easy to dodge fights that take 30 minutes because we couldn't find an upgrade. Idk why people are taking pride in this being a "hard" game. It's not hard, if you want a skill-based game, get into fighting games. This is a pattern recognition game, I'm not some "hardcore god gamer" because the boss fights are stupid easy for me, I die a couple times learning the fight and then I don't get hit because I know when to hit dodge. Same as any souls game. If pressing dodge on cue is hard, then yeah this game is brutal. So why should I need to dodge while tickling a boss because I can't find a weapon upgrade? I value my time and I want to see the endamge bosses that might actually be a challenge even while geared.
So, I didn't beat the campaign yet because I don't have as much time to play. The massive buff to loot is definitely impacting the difficulty and experience.

Previously, I had to pay attention to boss mechanics and find the best ways to deal with them. Now, the only one I'm really paying attention to is whatever the one-shot is. Then I delete half the boss' health within the stun window.

The result? Fights are faster, yes. They're also A LOT less memorable. Great if you want to speed through to grind the end-game loop, but terrible if you actually want to enjoy the campaign.
It's not Diablo 4, but it feels more like it than two days ago.
