I am worried that GGG might listen to the whiny "game too difficult :(" crowd

Look. This game is in Early Access, which means playable Beta, balance issues are going to exist. Just because a select few have the time and patience to rail their head against some of the content doesn't mean that it is working as intended. GGG has already said that they want it to be difficult but they also want it to be fun so as to not intimidate new players. Right now we're at probably an 80/20 or in some cases 90/10 split for difficulty and fun respectively.

The vast majority of people saying that they are having a hard time with the game, myself included, do not want a dumbed down game. If we did we would just go play D3 or D4. We want a balanced game and giving honest, objective input helps the devs to figure out where to apply balance changes and compromises within the scope of their vision for the game.

We are three days out and nine hotfixes into the launch with a long way to go. They are going to play with the settings over the course of the next few weeks or months and listen to the feedback each time. Some of the changes will swing wildy from overtuned for the majority to undertuned for the majority until they hit the sweet spot for each encounter that will give them the 50/50 split they are after.

As the game stands now several early bosses don't feel good to the majority of players in Early Access. The team needs to determine if it is solely a balance issue or if game optimization is creating issues. In my case I have a middle of the road computer for the game specs, playing on lowest settings with DX11 I still encountered fatal amounts of lag with excellent ping telling me that the game is hogging resources beyond what is intended on top of having to contend with the same issues as other players for several problem bosses.

Maybe I won't have as much difficulty if the game is optimized more, maybe the solution is a combination of both. We'll just have to play, discuss, update, and repeat. Jumping down each other's throats isn't helping, we all have different rigs and different levels of abilities. Any true supporter of GGG and PoE should want the game to attract as many players as possible so others can support the team and fuel the development of the game for years to come.

Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
you’re upset I’m commenting.

Why would buying supporter packs provide immunity on the forums? Following the TOS does.

I hope u guys are correct. It would be really sad if they make it easier.

I agree that the game shouldn't be made easy, but there's a fine line to walk where all the new players, interested in this new game, don't have to get shit on by the devourer 10x before they figure out how to cheese the mechanic.

It would be better if they weren't incentivized to learn how to cheese it, where one misplay doesn't spell instant death in act 1.
Quoting Saltychipmunk:
...I look at the new act 5 boss where you have to hide behind the statues to survive the bullet hell and all I can think is... how the fuck are zombies going to survive that?

They don't know what hiding is... they don't know what dodging is... they are morons.

You should apologize for a lot of things, but not for overestimating any poster here.

If you read all the posts (which weren't by pom-pom waving cheerleaders) MOST were about
(1) dodge/dodge/dodge/skill dance for 5 minutes mechanic being TEDIOUS (not difficult, not challenging but BORING and TEDIOUS)

(2) drop rates being abysmal for an ARPG.

You lording over everyone because you got to some level doesn't really mean much in that context (or any context really), to anyone (Except you, perhaps). Your lack of basic courtesy, etiquette (shitting on everyone from the get go) is a reflection on YOU, not PoE, not PoE "whales" ("whales" in online games don't mean what you think it means), or PoE2.

Anyway GL, hope you enjoy POE2, and dont frothe and stroke out when they tune it or change it a lot in the coming months from the current stage it is at.

1, 2) Yes, but see, that wasn't what my post was about. My post was about the game not being as difficult as people claim. And that's also what the reason you argued with me was about. The dodge and droprates you just pulled out of your arse.

3) You have continuously been hurling ad hominems, names and insults at me for hours, because I stated that the game isn't difficult (after all, you yourself stated that I, someone with no experience, have progressed through it), and cried when I responded in a similar fashion demanding a "basic courtesy, etiquette" you were unwilling to show from your first comment onwards.

4) "In gaming, a whale refers to a player who spends a significant amount of time and money on a game, often making high-value in-game purchases" (Source: https://www.larksuite.com/en_us/topics/gaming-glossary/whale)

In addition, I made the post claiming the game is not difficult, and should not be changed. The whale joined to argue against my point, henceforth implying that the game should be changed (should be made easier for him), and using his spent money as an argument why his opinion is valid and mine isn't (concluding that he should have an easier time by virtue of paying a lot of money).

So yes, he is mad he can't whale his way through the game.

You're both clowns.

As someone who has long supported GGG, do you find POE2 fun and engaging, rewarding and something that you would be willing to keep buying those supporter packs for?

Ironically most of the people complaining about difficulty aren't new players, but veterans, who call the new players who don't find the game too difficult, "tourists".

Since it's so important to you to mention how much more your opinion is worth based on how much money your parents paid for the game:

What do you think? Do you think the game is too difficult and should be changed? Or do you think the game is fine?

As you've made about 20 comments, and none of them about the actual topic of the post, but just about how much money you spent, I figured you'd have an opinion on the topic at hand as well. :)
