I am worried that GGG might listen to the whiny "game too difficult :(" crowd

This guy funded the game
Seems he has more invested into it than you
Yet you seems to tell PoE 1 they don't care about PoE 2

If he invested as much time engaging with the mechanics as money, he wouldn't need to complain about game difficulty online.

PS: Coming with a second account is pathetic. And yes, it's obvious because your 2nd account has the same shitty "can't quote properly" pattern. lol

I'm not on any second account lol
You know what ..
Nevermind lol

I got a good chuckle out of this.

And you have lost what few marbles you had or brought in the first place.

I think a 500 word essay won't even begin to cover the things you don't know, don't want to know, or incapable of knowing - about ARPGs, POE, (supporter icons), meaningful anything.

Please play more PoE2 instead of proving with every post how insufferable ab ignoramus can be - do us all a favor. After all, your obsession to it is cute in a puppy-love sort of way, so immerse yourself in it.

I wouldnt have paid to support a game that wasn't one I was going to play and enjoy. The currency isnt an issue, if I want currency, I buy currency, I was paying for the extra key (I already qualified lifetime purchases) for my son and to generally support the development of the new game because if you don't support the games you like / want, they wont be there when you want them. To that last point, thats because this is named, and has been marketed as POE2. Not Path of Souls or some other game, its named POE2, naturally that indicates is a successor and I probably want to play it because I like the original.

Had it been obvious that we called it POE2, but its a new take on the same genrea, but its essentially Ruthless mode as a new game, I would have known, not for me, good luck with that but not something I care about.

I'm also yet to see definite commitment from GGG on maintaining and improving POE1.

So as it stands right now, they are reaping in the rewards, while being closed lipped about their plans for POE1, because they know if they say "Yeah, this is the game, and POE1 will be sunsetted" then they will lose a lot of people. At the same time, not being up front it feels like a bait and switch. I'm not interested in this kind of game, so just tell me POE1 will continue to get the top tier support, all the cool features and equal billing to this game, and I'm gone, back to POE1, waiting for the next league.

I've played Ruthless, and for the times when that kind of game play is what I want, I don't mind it. I also don't mind what they are doing here, unless this is all there will be.

I want a fully supported, improved, cool version of these games that works for casuals, works for mediums and works for the elites.

In fact, I want an even more casual mode (and this is likely to be wildly unpopular) but I would love an opposite to Ruthless mode. Essentially, a sandbox mode. Lots of currency dropping. Don't keep the chars, make it ONLY SSF, disable achievs, no grouping, hell disable chat entirely. There are times when I want to experience what that person streaming is experiencing with their crafting and blasting etc, but I do not have the time to farm, or the followers to farm for me.

Essentially, give people more choice to play their way. It's 2024, it is possible to build and run a game that lets people choose their level of fun, experience and difficulty, and to do it in a way where how I play has eff all to do with how anyone else does.

We have a lot of people who are more interested in making sure others suffer than sharing and making sure everyone gets what they want. This should not be about Only Ruthless or Only Carebear, we can have both.

You know what, I can sympathise with your first point.
As a Baldur's Gate 1+2 fan, I've been in a similar boat not long ago, when BG3 was released, and it was too big of a departure from the originals for me.
So yes, I understand where that frustration is coming from.

I have only played witch so far, so I can only comment on that.
The built I homebrewed when I went in blind turned out to 1-click-melt through everything I'm encountering without any issues whatsoever.
It is as brainless afk faceroll as it gets, probably.

Do other classes struggle much more? Do others have a much harder time coming up with functional builds, because the community is so used to just copying streamer builds for a decade without understanding the game?
I can not tell.

I agree though that build variety is important.
From what I've heard at least, it seems to be pretty well implemented.

And all of the things you said about my lack of knowledge of the franchise and genre, while still having an easy time with the game, comes to support my point:
the game is not difficult.
Which is the main point of this post.

You... are able to make that connection, right?
I apologise if I'm overestimating you.

How likely is it that whaling grants someone immunity on the forums, I wonder.
I am tempted to test it out.

Huge fan of BG1/2 also and not that into BG3. I got a job at Bioware because I loved BG1/2 so much. (Job was on SWTOR though).
I'm done buying anything until we get some clarity on the future of POE1 and POE2 and I know GGG plans to spend effort on a game I want to play.

Tell us if POE1 still has your top tier support or if POE2 will get a mode for more casual play.

You should apologize for a lot of things, but not for overestimating any poster here.

If you read all the posts (which weren't by pom-pom waving cheerleaders) MOST were about
(1) dodge/dodge/dodge/skill dance for 5 minutes mechanic being TEDIOUS (not difficult, not challenging but BORING and TEDIOUS)

(2) drop rates being abysmal for an ARPG.

You lording over everyone because you got to some level doesn't really mean much in that context (or any context really), to anyone (Except you, perhaps). Your lack of basic courtesy, etiquette (shitting on everyone from the get go) is a reflection on YOU, not PoE, not PoE "whales" ("whales" in online games don't mean what you think it means), or PoE2.

Anyway GL, hope you enjoy POE2, and dont frothe and stroke out when they tune it or change it a lot in the coming months from the current stage it is at.
