I am worried that GGG might listen to the whiny "game too difficult :(" crowd

"
Perhaps an option to enable an 'easy mode' via a checkbox during character creation would allow some players to enjoy the game while they wait for guides and pre-made builds to become available online ?

"
I am not opposed to it, I just don't think GGG would have the time and resources to create essentially an entire second game just to (maybe) please complainers.

They could add an easy checkbox diminish global monster damage by 400%, increase player damage by 400%, and add a further 75% per act, with adjustments made later if necessary.

GGG is in a difficult position i guess.
The game is more mainstream than ever, all the streamers and content creators from other ARPG or even outside of the bubble moved to it (for how long, depends of the views i guess) and such people are expecting a more streamlined and easy road to complete it.

I hope they stay strong because browsing through "content creators" it seems people are unhappy about the game when in reality, 83% positive on steam for a polazired genre like ARPG is very good.

I hope they will carefully think before to listen to the vocal minority or echo streamer chamber.

I played all of the ARPG more or less and it is always the same since internet exists.
the vocal minority does not want to put the "effort" even minimal to understand a game, it has to be instant gratification and the content creators loop effect does not help in this regard.
Content creators want to zoom zoom in order to make a "build guide" quickly for the copy pasters(Viewers), viewers want to have a build guide because they don't want the challenge and it has to come fast, vicious circle, however this is only a loop effect and not representative.

I cannot wait the moment games will have an auto-survey tool within it to really feel what the majority is up to.

If they go the zoom zoom and simplification road, there is no way back that's for sure.

So... 33k reviews on steam is enough to make "majority" While Dozens of thousands of players in streams and forums are "minority"... Seems legit.
"
I find it a little ironic that most of these " hardcore gamers" or whatever haven't even beaten poe1 pinnacles, let alone ubers.

The game isn't difficult.
I can't pride myself on being "hardcore" about a game that's not difficult.
This game's "difficulty problem" is entirely imaginary and people (who have likely not even played it) are parroting it off of each other.

"Bosses take more than 1 click to die" isn't "difficulty".
"I don't get 50 rares before level 5" isn't "difficulty".
"I died because I stood in a boss AoE" isn't "difficulty".
"I have to learn boss attack patterns to survive" is technically difficulty, but the way it is implemented, it is very basic.

Not everyone who is playing PoE2 has played PoE1, so yes, you're correct.
PoE2 has reached a wider audience than PoE1, for better or for worse.

"
And now they're trying to belittle anyone who finds certain aspects of a BETA state game unbalanced or in need of some ironing out while completely ignoring the fact that the majority of criticism isn't about actual difficulty but bad design decisions.

I'm not belittling you.
I'm saying you the problem you're claiming to exist doesn't exist.

"
Also, those who find the game simply too difficult due to various reasons

Such as? You (plural) can never give any details, because most of you haven't even played the game and just parrot complaints off of each other lol

"
voice their opinions.

It's not even "their opinions", that's the sad part.

"
The purpose of EA is to gather feedback from all kinds of people, not these, smug self-glorifying, and totally pointless topics...

This is the only post of this kind I've seen (because I made it), yet I've seen plenty of "only tourists like this game", "every enjoyer of this game is a tourist" from supposed "fans" of the studio.
With fans like those, no studio even needs any haters.

Haha dozens of thousands of players, maybe a million?
Source please?
Or maybe no source if it is a cognitive bias.

Although from my understanding, the "veterans" complaining about the difficulty seem to make the point that it's the streamers liking and hyping up the game, and only "tourists" like "the difficulty", so don't even know who is who anymore at this point.

At least I got to agree with them on that one.
As someone who streams, this game is absolutely brilliant.

Yeah, some of these people have common goals even if they disagree on what is wrong, streamers to milk, veterans are not veterans anymore, tourists bringing money :)
Any ARPG is milked by streamers via paid promotion and potential viewership, was the same for Wolcen or LE (Milked to reach good sales and then left alone)
Not saying POE is in the same category, but not sure about the streamers hype, thats always the same marketing overall and it works, ARPG have a solid pool in term of sales volume.
It's interesting how some people find the game too difficult, while others who are enjoying it are being labeled as 'tourists.' That seems like a rather odd way to dismiss those having a positive experience.
