I am worried that GGG might listen to the whiny "game too difficult :(" crowd

GGG has said they want it to be difficult, but fair. I do not foresee them changing what they believe to be fair.

Because there wont be enough resources to make both games great.

Maybe rest more comfortably with the knowledge that for the last 2-3 years "POE1 leagues have been made by 1 guy" this quote was later acknowledged to be exaggeration with Neon or Johnathan saying "okay it was really more like 7 guys and they would rotate in and out as needed".

In that time POE1 has had some of its most popular leagues, the playerbase grew and by most accounts Settlers is the all time goated POE1 league, and the core game state of POE1 is in the best shape its ever been.

I expect to keep playing POE1 because despite my issues with it, I still have fun for some days every league and sometimes even multiple months of fun.
Pandering to players who don't want consequences for their mistakes is a perfect description of what went fundamentally wrong with D3 and 4.
If they wanted mindless mobile game time waster gameplay they sure did make some perplexing choices and marketing statements for 6 fucking years.

Yes, instead only listen to the top 10%-ers.

I'm far from the top 10%. I'm probably pretty average.

This is blatantly false.

POEII was SUPPOSED fix the unapproachability issues of POE1.

But that's exactly what they did.
They trimmed the fat from the character sheet, they turned down the currency bloat, they simplified the crafting system immensely.

I am a new player to both the PoE franchise and ARPGs, I understand how intimidating PoE1 can look. PoE2 is nowhere near that, they have made it much, much more approachable.

Not to mention, that if the game does not feel good in the first few hours, people will leave and not come back. It won't matter that law average finally takes effect at the 50 hour mark if your loot experience before that makes your experience so miserable you don't want to play for 50 hours.

Your loot before that will mostly be whites.
If you get blues, you either use them, or disenchant them.
You then use the orbs to get the affixes you like.
Hope this helps :)

You don't get drops, you don't get orbs, you don't get gold, your gear stagnates. You need 10 blues for one orb. Gold income is so bad you have to sell multiple inventories worth of items to purchase a single item. No drops then you suffer. Get drops, you proceeed smoothly

Brother, you're not supposed to do a pacifist run.

Apart from the occasional one-shot from Titan and the indistinguishable safe zone during the Jamanra fight sand storm, the fights are very fair.

They had similar thoughts with early POE1. they changed it.

In that case, as a new fan, I hope they have more confidence in their product this time around, instead of listening to a loud minority who love complaining for complaining's sake.

Do you not understand that rng means people will infact be drop starved? You only counter rng with time playing (player influenced) or quantity/quality dropped from mobs (no player influence). Just because you got ample drops to craft items at a rate that allows progress, does not mean all others will. I have both a drop starved character and a character with drop surplus. If a new player joins and gets drop starved they will leave before it averages out because the experience is miserable.

Yes, instead only listen to the top 10%-ers. I'm not sure why you think having someone research every system in the game and spend 80 hours watching videos is required for playing act 1 of a video game.

I get that for end game, and elite level content, but starting, nope. POEII was SUPPOSED fix the unapproachability issues of POE1. Instead it doubled down and made it more hardcore. I get the the hardcore crowd love having 'whinny' people quit, since it's makes them feel better about their own skill, but that is not a path (get it) for long term success. D4 sold 3.5 million copies, why, because anyone could pick it up and just play it.

So me and my friends are having a blast playing the game.
1 of them never touched POE1 the other did waaay back a little.
And i did 1 week of the last expansion to get the atlas completed for the kiracs vault item set and before that played that last time in 2018 or so.

I played D4 and if i compare D4 start to POE2 start now i can personally say i enjoy POE2 way more.

Its totally valid if you dont like POE2 as it is. But why diminish the opinion of others by claiming they are only the top 10% or saying what the top10% do.

You can speak for yourself. The people in the forum who share your opinion. Or your friends/the people you talked to about how they feel about the game.

But please stop with assuming how the other ~499k players feel about the game.

For my two friends they basically did just pick up the game and play it. And they enjoy it.
I did a bit more research before. And i enjoy it aswell.

And i think the game could use some quality of life changes. Making more builds more viable etc.

But not a change to general difficulty. To me that feels on point.

You have to bring the HP of enemies to 0 so they drop loot.
The more often you do this, the more drops you get.
I hope this helps ♥
