PoE 2 Is For Tourists

The endgame is pointless. It's just hoping for a god drop and grinding gold like Last Epoch.

You're still talking about early access game that has roughly half of its content marked "coming soon".
Complaining about endgame right now is pretty laughable. Of course it's not even remotely finished like the rest of the game.
Yeah, I think the game looks amazing and feels okay mechanic wise, like the WASD movement and animations but everything else is just slop...

it feels so slow and i fucking hate that white mobs take 30 hits to kill, just makes me feel bored, I dont mind any of the other fucking things about this game that arent that good.

its just that fact that every monster can 2 tap you and every monster takes 200 hits to kill, unrewarding and uninteresting.

I found 4 uniques within 20 hours and I thought the loot was too easy.

Some of the crafting mats like alchs are harder to come by for me. I've found like 4 so far.

Def some tuning needed for some currency drop rates but I don't want to be handed gear. I like the rarity like in D2.

It releases in a few months, no?

I don't expect perfect balance. That is not the issue. The issue is dumbed-down design which removes the meaning from whatever they eventually crap out as an endgame.

The other issue is that although in small spurts the gameplay can be fun, the general slog of going from boss to boss is arduous and slow. This doesn't really change as you get stronger or progress.

The bosses are great. I think they're fun. Unfortunately you have to grind out 45 minutes of cranking spells into white mobs to find one. Then you beat it in 1-2 tries, if you're lucky it drops an alch, then you're back to shooting white mobs.

I mean, sure they could totally reverse direction on crafting, dashes, player power, player choice, and development philosophy by March... I guess.

I agree, white mobs are stupidly overtuned and dont drop ANYTHING for their difficulty.
Correction, they said 6+ months, but my point stands.

They need to do a complete 180 on half their "design decisions" and make a completely different game with the same graphics and story.

It isn't gonna happen.

I will be a tourist if the devs cave in and make it a POE 1 zoomfest screen explosion like majority is asking in the forums. It's disingenuous to see people call the 2nd game disrespectful of players time when you actually have to have a PhD in POE 1 if you want to do something yourself instead of following guides.

While it's too soon to tell of course but steam char all time peak seems to disagree with all of you doomsayers.

It is a twitch fad and they invested heavily into marketing.
Those players are the type to complete the campaign once (maybe) and bounce.

They aren't gonna buy tabs. They aren't gonna buy skins. They aren't gonna be here in January.

Most of the players that don't fit this description will also get tired of the game quickly as just getting from place to place is arduous and unrewarding. It isn't about "zooming" and killing everything without thought. It's about the literal plodding pace of the game.

The boss design is good. They should lean into that and just let us zoom the maps and fight the bosses, but they won't lol

I am up to buying all of that as long as GGG does not cave in into people wanting to change their vision of what they want POE 2 to be. And if I will, that means there are other people like me too. For example POE 2 reddit compared to these forums is 180 shift in tone with overwhelming praise for the game. And before some1 says that reddit is an echochamber, i'd argue you can say the same thing for the negativity on these forums.

So far the "people that don't fit the description" are the people who want a pretier version of POE 1: all screen exploding and a game that plays itself in the end. You say people don't want the zoom gameplay back but going through the forums - that's exactly what people who don't like POE 2 ar asking for: "nothing dies quickly so it's hard to actually engage in the game - i quit".

Just to be clear - there are things to fix and tweak but definitely not as much as people claim.

Most the opinions that align with the above image are from accounts who haven't played PoE 1 or very little of it.

if you can't understand why people are upset with how VASTLY different this game is to the first 1 then you need some emotional intelligence training at your place of work.

OK, now go check the POE reddit r/pathofexile and see how they are flaming the game and talking about it like it's the worst game ever made and generally mocking GGG for making it.

reddit evidence means nothing.

You can make a slower game work, but the execution is terrible here. If you have played actually difficult ARPGs with raid mechanics then the difficulty of the game is trivial.

If you want to spam creeps and have the players not complain, have the creeps actually be rewarding.

As I said before, the greater looming problem is that it's all pointless. The endgame CANNOT be good when the only crafting method is YOLO slamming. This will drive the price of gear through the roof in terms of player time, and since drops are so rare altogether the potential to really make progress in endgame SSF is incredibly low.

People who are just going to play the campaign might have a good time if they care more about the story or the visuals or something like that, but those aren't your long term players that buy stuff and play seasons.

Absolutely. Because people who like PoE2 are not the same that those liking PoE1. It's not a hard to understand concept. Games are quite different and so playerbase is quite different too.

PoE1 enjoyers still have their PoE1.
