How to turn POE2 into a game w 5 million+ players. 2 Difficulty settings
" It s not really clever. We re a capitalistic world , ofc they want to have a lot of ppl playing. You think they can live only with Ruthless masochistic players and avoid 95% of the player pool? That's so arrogant and moreover delusional No risk no fun hardcore forever

" POE1 had preemptively lost all the players that did not like it before POE even got into steam. Almost every single person on my gamming circle hated POE1 .. way before it was in steam. That skew the results. |

I am not a casual gamer and i still think POE2 is way harder than it should've been. All "bad" POE tendencies are still there.
Instead of playing the game and having fun lurking on internet instead as of what to play which will give me easier time, what build, what gems. I have no power to get through that nightmarish run with another character. This is something we had to avoid with POE2 and still here we are ... The same scenario. Not for me, im tired of it. All i want is to be INGAME and play and have great time. Last edited by Azatis#0817 on Dec 15, 2024, 5:54:16 AM

I think its a bad idea, its like saying that the game "I wanna be they Guy" should have mario-esc powerups so you can pass trought the areas.
The game do not need to lower dificulty, PoE1 makes that buy giving a lot of building power, and people net-build so they can go casual. Players in here, need to actually use the toos given to them too! Dodging its a BIG mechanic, they got rid of life nodes on skilltree! its early on, people do not have the good gear yet, people do not know what base item they should be crafting on, first character, you still dont have enought currency(been a few days since my last exalt with 49% itemfind) What they should do, is make areas less big, but keep the amount of enemy on them people gets tired upon reaching a boss from so much infinite maze-like maps there was 2 maps that i SPENT AN HOUR! trying to clear, checkpoint teleport wont do shit on helping with that. i used my weapon form lvl 6 to lvl 44, my higest gear at that point was 1 lvl 33 one, so my gear was crap, if i could make with that, imagine what players will do with better gear... |

" I wouldn't mind it, if everything will be balanced around current intendent mode, and casual mode can be unbalanced and way too easy, because for those who will want to play that mode balance doesn't really matter, they want to play OP heroes anyway. You can have your easy mode if GGG will give us a SSF with drops not based on trade. I'd not hold my breath for either one.

and the ''best game possible'' would be the version i play. the normal mode. the option would be for an easier mode that maybe diablo4 fans and people's mom's and dads could try out. to explore the content and go through the story. we need to think of the big picture here. The Original game would be 100% in-tact.

"Plus PoE1 has 10 years of content and PoE2 is a beta missing over half its content, its not even fair to compare them. |

the point is there are wide skill gaps. bad players could play poe1 and beat low level maps by following a build guide and just getting some gear. in poe2 that is not possible because in poe2 you can't just point and click and 1 shot things. usually not. you need to incorporate some level of skill. dodging, timing, making decisions.... that is a HUGE ask for more casual players or less skilled players in general.
2 difficultly settings would allow a tremendously large audience to participate in POE2. and the gamers who appreciate the challenge... still have the exact same game they enjoyed.... the default mode. No one loses anything and only positives are to be gained. " |
