there are dozens of ways difficulty can be changed, and each of them could be combined with different levels of power creep to make a hugely improved version of something like D3 torment level style. Its easy to also implement some kind of 'default/normal' level where achievements or some such can begin in much the same way as games like mass effect handle it.
Of course this id devs choice, but making a game more widely available to a wider audience instead of making it super hard out of the gate and turning away potential players seems to be preferable to most people. |

" Notice that most people having problem with POE2 are not the casual, but the Die hard POE1 fans that keep trying the same approach. Most of people that never played POE1 are not suffering at all.. Because they are not addicted to the face tank mentality. |

SSF and hardcore already exists. Balance will come to standard during EA that is in line with their vision and player feedback.

" I actually would enjoy less stress. Like not worrying about some mechanic I couldn't see due to the entire screen flashing from abilities. Especially in parties, all I see is a light show. Can't even see the enemies. Needing to be locked in every minute is tiring. :)

NGL, I won't be playing the game if it stays the way it is. Too much frustration, not enough loot, too much tedium, not enough fun. I could make a giant post about what I specifically do not like, but it's already been said and gotten flamed for the feedback.

" Diablo 3 is the exact game PoE should avoid. Everyone who praises D3 mechanics are not playing D3 anymore and for a good reason. Instant gratification and easy victory doesn't make a great game, it makes a DVD menu that pretends to be a game. |

" So you have 1000 hours (41 days~) in a game that released in Beta 11 days ago? |
