How to turn POE2 into a game w 5 million+ players. 2 Difficulty settings

+1 Always asking for it, I want to enjoy this beautiful Game but I'm not super sweaty player and I'm just want to come home from working overtime and relax playing Fantasy Good looking, easier playing RPG Without getting stressed over it, I have enough of stress in Life without this sht..

No you arent getting difficulty settings.

The devs will never do this.

I love the direction of POE2. How the game is more challenging and fulfilling combat but it seems a lot of people do not. They expected something a lot easier. Many of these players seem like they would not play POE2 if it retains this direction.

Solution: 2 different difficulties. Normal and Easy. So all the players who want to relax and just go through the content.... will have the opportunity to do so. Let's face it... there are a lot of casual gamers and poe2 is likely not a good home for them. But it is an amazing home for gamers who want a more serious experience. So lets provide both?

How the 2 difficulties will be distinct: You decide. I don't know the answer to this yet. If anyone has any ideas please share. You cannot switch difficulties for that character however and maybe some of the end game content is fundamentally different. End game bosses that are a bit more basic and certain legendary loot would be removed from the echosystem as well.

So we can retain every gaming audience with this solution. Casual daddy moms and the hardcore....

--edit--
2 difficultly settings would allow a tremendously large audience to participate in POE2. and the gamers who appreciate the challenge... still have the exact same game they enjoyed.... the default mode. No one loses anything and only positives are to be gained.

Nope, this will never happen and I could explain why but its been done over and over. The game has an economy, period.

Not every game needs to be for you, you're not entitled to every single game being for you. That's it. Get better and take pride in that growth OR play another game. Cya
Step 1 is to self reflect.

I've suggested the two or more game modes idea all week. No feedback at all.

I don't even find the game that hard, until you get into deeper maps, at which point it becomes a one-shot fest. But I'm 42 years old, with 10k hours in ARPG's and another 2000 in souls-like games. I have NO problems seeing how people might struggle with POE2. It doesn't make them bad gamers!
The game should have had a difficulty curve into the campaign over the first three acts, not just a stonewall at act 1.

The game is mostly tedious for me, that is my big problem
Ascendancies gated behind really shitty mechanics, for one. Nerfing anything having a decent clearspeed into oblivion instead of simply balancing it is another.

But I'm all for difficulties. If you are opposed to that idea you just hate people having fun, really.

Whenever someone uses the words "Just get good", all I hear is "I'm an elitist a-hat". Don't care about those people at all.

They don't want a discussion, they just want to brag about how amazing human beings they are, because that is usually what sad, pathetic people tend to do.

Yep, exactly... also they want to feel like they're "great gamers" because they're playing the hardest game possible...

Well, newsflash, I don't like Souls Games and I've played lots of ARPGs (Last Epoch and PoE2 being the latest) and I enjoy the easy and fun Last Epoch where every decently thought out build I make takes me to at least level 70-75 while having fun and without insane effort than PoE2 where I've been sweating against Act 2 boss and dying to it's non-telegraphed dagger one shot...

And btw, to all these brilliantly sad, pathetic people that will call me a "filthy casual" and tell me to "git gud" I can tell them that I've been a semi-pro gamer... I've been a top 0.1% top worldwide player in one of the most competitive games of it's time (FIFA from 2013 to 2015)... but REAL top tier gamers don't look down at the lower level players... because they know that the massive low tier player bases are the ones funding their beloved game

And I've never told anyone to "git gud"... I've never trash talked anyone even though I have been sent raging messages from mid tier players that think they're good that I beat really badly because I was better... these mid tier gamers are the ones that DESPERATELY seek validation to be called "top tier" cause they're sad and pathetic...

REAL top tier gamers actually help lower players... I once helped a hardstuck Division 6 kid from Austria go up to Div 2 in 3-4 weeks by coaching him just cause after I beat him 11-0 he had the guts to tell me "you're the best I've ever played, can you please teach me?"... THAT is how top tier gamers ACTUALLY behave... and we're chill people mostly that enjoy the game they're super good at without feeling the need to talk down to the rest of the players...

The toxic players are always the mid tier... players that don't have the knowledge to understand the game but also have the need to prove their good so they say "git gud" to everyone...

I'm saying that because I've had the experience man, I've seen it first hand and it's EXACTLY this... top tier is chill, mid-tier is toxic af and low tier is half "I wanna have fun and I don't care" and half desperately trying to get better cause they are tired of the toxic mid tier flaming them...

This game isn't meant for casuals. You want easy go play D4

And if Tencent wants to bankroll a game with what is likely going to be a very, very limited audience; then so be it. It is their business decision to make.

But as someone who has played 1000’s of hours of PoE1, I can tell you that a lot of us were expecting a difficulty level in PoE2 similar to that of PoE1. And that is why so many people are so very disappointed.

Yeah and as another person who has 1000's of hours in poe 1 i can tell you that there was literally never any indication that poe 2 would be like one, in fact they made it a point to say this several times. You'd know this if you actually bothered to watch/read the teasers and announcements leading up to launch.

Whether you like it or not you people are the vocal minority. Game's still top 3 on twitch and the steam numbers haven't fallen off. You can spin whatever narrative you want and do all the mental gymnastics you please, the game will be just fine. With or without you.
I miss Poe-1's labyrinth, that says it all xd. By the way, since I first met Poe, the labyrinth seemed like a work of art to me, with its tests, its puzzles (easy, they could have tried a little harder there), etc.

They are doing it wrong with this game, and with other things. They take their game so "seriously" that any report in the chat brings bad consequences for any unimportant comment. That's what they do, make our day miserable lately. Dedicate yourselves to improving your game, work, and let life live.

I want fun, not false "difficulty" that is solved by buying a good weapon in the market, because that difficulty is a lie, it's a desire to make their game worse, nothing else. This is still a Poe, but poorly done. With good graphics of the stage (not the character), good music, and something else, but worsened in many aspects regarding the gameplay of Poe-1. They're already damaging Poe-1 too much with meaningless mtx, pet noises like the trio, etc., so now they introduce Poe-2 and ruin it completely. Very bad. We'll have to find another game to continue living in the illusion and anesthetize the pain, because Poe right now is "sacrifice", "pain" and "scarcity".

Greetings.
I can only imagine they don't want millions of players as long as they keep thinking everyone loves this ruthless level dog**** while ignoring poe 1 players feedback for 6 + years

They're a brick wall they won't listen to anything. Delusional. Wish more knew to keep their thirty dollars.

2 difficulties like that means more servers, more servers for poe market. More expenses. If they research and decide if those expenses are worth the hussle... It will be possible.
the game isnt hard.. we keep saying that.. its just to punishing on your time

anyone can kite for 45 minutes to clear a map.. but no one wants to..

casual does not mean BAD.. i wish people would stop trying to imply this

I think in today’s day and age having multiple difficulties makes the game much more accessible, which to an extent, can be good for sales. But I would be willing to bet the majority of players airing their frustrations on this forum by completely shitting on the game will just find something else to complain about.
