Feels like a scumbag moment from GGG
So a Free game is going to get sold for $30. Probably sell 1 million+ copies just for the EA and this will basically just be the game release and they will rake in the dough as if it a paid game This reeks of scumbaggery.

Game: is free
Company: makes millions selling copies of the game for $30
GGG: ;)
The game will be free when the finished version is released. That hasn't changed. They are charging for access to an early version which is not final and will probably change often over the course of early access. Those who are paying for access to EA all know that. GGG has let it be known numerous times that EA is NOT the final free version. People have a choice: pay for early access, or patiently wait for the final free version to be released.

They charged for the EA of POE1.

Nothing changed.

They were upfront about it from the start.

Well if this is the case does that mean history it's going to repeat as in we will get a decent and fun poe2 after 8 years and after that they're gonna sell the game once again to tencent and after that we will have only 4-5 leagues with temporary-removable fun and after that POE3 ?

Btw POE2 developed under tencent or not?

Just a sad lonely player looking at a great game with nostalgia ...

Stay sane, Exile ... Zana will eventually come back from the store with milk xD

PoE will never be "complete" in any sense due to its ongoing development, technically remaining in early access forever, so the term "complete" is quite meaningless. The game is already in good condition, fully playable and that's why they are marketing it and selling it. The teeny-tiny problem is that they made a free-to-play promise that they don't want to break, and that's why we are seeing this circus.

Of course the game will have a release. Nobody but you talks about "complete". There exists no complete software. When they release the game, it will be the release version. This is the only definition that counts. They decide it, no you, or other trolls. And no, the EA Version will not have the content that is defined by the release version. They are not the same, the game is not fully playable, there are missing classes (as a defined part of the release version), missing story (as a defined part of the release version) and other things like mechanics and bugs.

While no software is ever truly complete, calling this version of PoE2 early access is more about marketing than actual reality. The game is already fully functional, and playable, which is exactly what players have been waiting for.

Regardless of whether it’s branded as early access or a release, the game is being sold in it's current state and that's what really matters.

yeah but gamers do not care about early access title or anything like that, they see the game being released, they want it like hungry dogs. GGG is just charging $30 and taking advantage of people because they can get away with it and will make the money as if this is a paid release of a game when its NOT. Having their cake and eating it too at our expense.

do you think games like this are made out of the goodness of their hearts? It wouldn't exist without player support. We're talking about what could very well be the ARPG of the decade, and you're over here complaining about them charging for early access to a game that's not even set to release until sometime next year. So entitled... smh.
Officially, the number that was quoted is "the game is like 80% there". If they don't deliver all of what they promised (which is at least 12 classes total, 3 ascendancies each), then feel free to pick up the torches and pitchforks.

The game is not even sold.
And when the game is only 3 acts instead of 6, there are only two ways to ascend instead of 3 and only two ascendancies per class instead of 3 (and only 6 classes and not 12), you can't say that it is ready.
Moreover, we don't know anything about bugs.

So, no, the game is not ready for release and it is not sold at all. You can't buy PoE... at least not for 30 dollars.
