Tota is easily best League mechanic of all time and it's not even close.
" Don't worry GGG is with you. |

" I know someone who doesn’t like it that much and played it for weeks because it dropped currency like nothing else before. Like him, probably 90% of the players do it because it’s rewarding and not because it’s fun… because it’s not. |

" you do not decide what i find fun and sanctum drops more currency than tota and many other mapping strategies are better than tota for making currency tota is just the chillest way to play |

" GGG where are you? Prove to me that you are not double standard. |

" I am glad you enjoyed Tota. :) " I was playing Tota like conventional PoE mechanic for a while and I had time of my life. You raise good point. All the greatest League mechanics require learning them, figuring them out, getting used to them. Just like with life, but PoE is a game - it's not life. Should GGG dumb down League mechanics to the level of Breach or be very hand holdy and agressive when it comes to educating players on new League mechanic? I for one like figuring out new League mechanics, I like when League mechanics offers depth, etc. etc. " This is simply not the case. Very few people will engage in something that is actively not fun otherwise a lot more would be rolling sextants in hideout and do other tedious yet simple and very profitable strategies. " Yeah, Tota offers chill gameplay, specially with Void Sphere build and it's easy to just log in and dod Tota for hours, because it doesn't require any maintenance other than having enough Silver Coins. |

" Ayo, smartass, how about you speak for yourself, instead of assuming shit, weirdo?I am still here and still playing PoE. Nothing changed and I haven't missed anything. Trial is not fun and I feel shit every time I realize that I have to do it for currency. Cause that's all there is to it. Rewards. There's no fun in it. It's even more shit when AI breaks on the reward that you want. This trial is not why I launched the game. It's not fun being oneshotted. It's not fun watching 4 defenders (2 of which are spear dancers) not being able to disrupt 1 guy capturing your totem 'cause they probs AFK again, 'cause their AI broke. Pick any other league. It's gonna be 10 times more fun. Last edited by Lyov4en#5413 on Nov 7, 2023, 4:48:54 PM

I really love that they added a match-type of mechanic to the game. It makes a pleasant difference.
What I also like about TotA is that the investment is very efficient. The player control over the matches is there - at least on a base level, which is nice. The time consumption and involvement is relatively low so it's actually enjoyable. Rewards, including tattoos are satisfying - for all - originality, purpose and profit; these were a nice (maybe even necessary) additions to the game. But there's one big problem with the whole thing - the mechanic is bugged beyond description. The AI needs twice as much work on it. It's barely useful in its current state. Walls? One-shots on a 120k EHP char? And no AG while playing the matches? This is a thing bad enough to make me forget all the benefits of the league. I started playing it with a heavily geared minion build and I played for quite a while - maybe a few hours, before I realized that my AG is gone. Also, they implemented those walls which is the highest level of cringe in PoE in the last few years. They are not even magical or something - it's just some random monster instantly drops 2-3 sets of actual iron walls on the field. This is unnecessary and unintelligent beyond description. Whatever the reason was for these walls, it would have been a lot more interesting for them to be on the field from the start of a match and as part of the matches in general, and probably be indestructible as well. But the fact that I lost my 120k Life AG (with Doppelganger) in probably some random one-shot is enough for me to say 'no' to the whole league mechanic in an instant. And I did. Also, I can guess that melee builds (especially low-geared) in TotA are again a failure if you actually want to be efficient on the runs. Mostly because of these walls and all the random crowd control effects against you. Oh, and let's not forget the fact that the 'stun' from being hit while draining an opponent's totem has THE SAME ANIMATION like a normal stun, causing people to be totally deluded by thinking it's an actual stun, therefore making them investing in anti-stun passives on the tree; not only this but the appearance of many new Stun wheels on the passive tree (including masteries) was a huge boost in the confidence of people to think this was actually related to the TotA mechanic in a way. I have no more words to describe how unfinished this league mechanic still is. And there weren't any proper updates since the first month. My personal rate for the TotA league mechanic is: Profit: 8/10 (very high) Time consumption: 7/10 (it's OK) Quality of gameplay: 3/10 (unfinished) Originality: 6/10 (it's OK) Overall: 6/10 which, for me, it doesn't even get in top 5 best leagues in PoE. GGG are just bad at presenting the lore of their story. Very bad at it. And the game has already turned into a currency-grinding casino. The fantasy atmosphere loses its meaning. This said, it kinda reminds me of the silly Sentinel league where there was literally no new content except the actual brainless single-click game mechanic. In TotA, at least we touched the Karui lore a bit; and there's the match arena - this is good for sure. Still, nothing beats Sentinel as the worst PoE league ever. For me the biggest lost opportunity was reworking chieftan and having it be so abysmally bad in a league that is about karui tribal chieftans.
Ffs balance it later but make players feel hype a little bit. As it is now, we got the ruthless version in standard. They could literally double or triple the numbers and minmaxers still wouldn't use tawhoa or tukohama or ngahamu. Hell the resist thing is still a nerf if you can have a curse + exposure. Even worse if that the lore is basically 5 paragraphs per character (some are closer to 15) and two reaction phrases per class. Like kalandra, the devs dealt hinekora an injustice. Just my opinion, after further reflection. |

" There are barely bugs and AI is actually non-issue. 120k EHP? What's your max hit without temporary buffs / chance mechanics? I don't get one shot on my tanky character. So you took no that AG struggles in Tota but didn't realised that Tota is overall great for minions? Minions are good for Tota, because they are body blocking nad and distructing. Tota makes minion builds shine. You and the walls. Never seen anyone complaining about them so passionately lol. Lore is literally notes in other games meanwhile it's actually voiced by professional voice actors in Tota. That complaint makes no sense. There isn't much to improve other than things you actually didn't mentioned and these improvements would make it go from 95% to 96-97%. It's already in amazing state. To me League is 10/10 for obvious reasons. It has so much awesmeness going for it while having no major issues. " What's with that anger? That's just observation based on what you guys are saying. If your understanding is lacking your conclusions will be lacking as well. I don't know how to put it better. Also that 4 Defenders with 2 Spear Dancer not being able to stop one guy from channeling situation simply didn't happened or you misunderstood it (just like you did with many things) and they were busy with other things or dead. " There is a lot of lore though. To the point that I didn't even read / listened to everything. You can't complain that there is not enough of it. Or you expected cinematics or something along these lines just for this League? I agree about Hinekora. Could be more of her. Last edited by Jenn_GGG#0000 on Nov 3, 2023, 3:51:11 AM
